I’m late to this party. I’m exploring all window a/c options that don’t involve hanging it off the outside wall. Love this, but I have a ramp door. The idea of Venting a ramp door makes me break out in hives. I’m guessing a flu wouldn’t provide sufficient ventilation. Searching ideas.

NVcowboy, I am not sure how you could do it like I just did with a ramp, but I will come back and add a link to my pages on the 7x18 toy hauler I built that had a ramp..I put the vent out the side and intake on the roof using the same vents a propane fridge uses. I have been using it for 4 years and it works flawlessly. Give me a an hour or so to find them and I will edit this.

Edit: start here and check out how I did my last build. It may work for you if you choose to do it that way.

I made the AC rack the appliance stack. It works well for me.

This is what it looks like today after 4 years.

Got the siding on the right side and painted. I am about 14 inches short with the Etrack, but will get more.

In any case, you can see how it will look. I used Luan plywood up top, rubber diamond plate flooring for the bottom as you see it and I am using Etrac for the transition. I like the look.

Will hang the shelves tomorrow hopefully.

I am leaving space and infrastructure to be able to install a black tank and proper toilet if this portable doesn't work out well for me... I am trying to avoid having to find places to dump a black tank. I can dump the 5 gallon cassette in a lot more places. Finding dump stations became a problem for me last year when I was boondocking a lot. Usually went to truck stops and had to pay $10 or some were free with fill up if you could find them.

Don, I ran across this website: https://www.interstaterestareas.com/faqs/dump-stations/

I cannot verify how accurate it is but it did show the rest areas that I know have dump stations in TN on I-40. I have seen them other places but just don't remember where. I don't ever recall seeing any sign that said there is a charge for it.

The site took a few minutes to load on me and you have to scroll down the page some to view some of it. Might just be my computer or maybe just the operator  .

Just checked out interactive map of TN and learned it is best to zoom in real close to the rest areas to click on them to see which direction the rest area is on (Ie east or west). TN has some right across from each other and there is one I know that serves both directions on I-40.

Looked at everything you did. It’s perfect. Especially since it moves the AC to mid ships instead of aft. I wanted to leave the rear open for fold down wall bunks, so this is a winner. I just gotta wait till it’s not 120 outside to start my build.

Thank you for this. This website is awesome!

Bill, you are welcome. Good luck with your build.

Harry, thanks for the dump station info. I have an RV Dump Site app on my phone that shows some of that. It does help.

Got the shelves in and everything wired. I just have some ceiling crown molding, floor molding and trim/blinds for the window and this side will be done. Even got a bottle opener on the wall.

Need to get about 12 inches more of Etrac also.

I like the white walls and cabinets, it makes it look lighter inside.

I added some crown molding along the roofline and cased the window and added the last 12 inches of Etrac. I haven't decided on what to do about window coverings.

I did get the Luan up on the left side tonight, so I will be painting that and hanging the shelves tomorrow.

Got more done today. Almost ready for laminate floor and baseboards, but I need to shift focus and finish the bathroom and then flooring. In any case, got the left side done and most of the crown molding. I set the couch/bed in for a fit check and to figure out how to build a front plate to cover underneath and allow for more storage Also, I need decide where to place the table mount. Will roll the motorcycle in later this week to see where I need to place the wheel chocks and etc..

Got the shower and water heater plumbing all situated with pex to compression so I could use flex hose the last 6 inches. Makes it easier for hookup.

On the shower, the FRP will cover the opening, but if I ever need to replace the flex hose, ( which I expect to in distant future), I will just take a razor and cut opening in FRP and then close/seal it back up with a decorative Diamond Plate Aluminum Piece.

This was the only way I could see to do this where the backside is not accessible. Replacing the faucet is no problem. Just 4 screws and assembly leans forward from wall.

Now to cut exhaust stack hole in the roof and the hole for vent fan. I'll get that done, then start paneling to wrap it up.
