This is true. It can develop slight magnetic properties through cold forming, however if the metal rusts?

The wall facing the bunk beds was made from a whole 3/4" sheet of plywood to account for all of the attachments to it i.e. the bunks are screwed to it to stabilize, the TV is hooked to that wall under the top bunk and there will be an eventual vanity cabinet hung from it so I didn't want to chance missing blocking.

This looks amazing! I see the measurements for the bathroom door, but what is the measurement for the entire wall with the door. I may have missed it, sorry.

I'll do you one better pirijodonny! here's the measurements plus the pdf I sent to the fiberglass shop to get the pan made



In hindsight I think getting the pan made first then building the shower around it would have been much easier, the fiberglass guys had to do it twice because they didn't take into account the thickness of their layers.

I finally found a tp holder I'm happy with at Lowe's.

It goes with the decor and is all stainless plus the added phone holder feature and it was only 12 bucks!

Going with a wet bath design I needed some watertight storage for medicines and such. I originally found this little medicine locker at Ikea but at 40 bucks I thought it was too pricey so I continued my search without much luck. Fortunately Ikea put these little guys on clearance about a month ago for 10 bucks! So I bought two

It's all plastic, much needed for a wet environment and it has a rubber gasket around the door to keep the humidity out and away from the paper products.

It took me a few weeks of back and forth to finally decide on a towel bar for the bathroom and I have to say I'm really pleased with my choice. These will serve not only to hang out towels to dry but can also be used for wet goods to dry.

I've got it set up to fold flat against either wall and the shower curtain will cover them while showering to keep whatever you hang up dry.

I'm working fast and furious right now because we are going camping next Wednesday!

Since I don't have a conventional rv door on the rear fold out (it swings inward so we can put an inflatable mattress in the bonus room) I had to come up with a door stop that I could seal against when we are using the fold out in porch mode.

My solution is to rabbet out a relief on the backside of the casing to allow for a piece of aluminum angle to sit flush in, I then passed 2 1/2" screws through the casing, aluminum and into the stud to sandwich it all together.

It's getting down to the wire! (Pun intended)I managed to get the removable lighting worked out for the folding room last night, you'll see in the pictures I made a lot of it happen with the use of magnets. I used 65lb pull magnets so there's no fear of them falling off or getting knocked off heck I'm not even sure if I'll be able to pull them off!

This is a shot of the metal plates I am using to adhere the lights to, they are plain gang box covers stuck to the ceiling with 3m tape so as not to have screws protruding which would interfere with the magnets.


I attached the magnet with a wooden disk as a wire spacer to the back of the light with 5 min epoxy.


The pigtail plugin you see attached to the light is for connecting the second light, I designed them to separate for easier storage but I supposed I could also just use one light if that were all I needed


Here it is linked up with the second light. I have much more wire attached to the lights than what's needed, the excess is wound or spooled up on the base of the lights this allows me to move the fixtures around to where I might need more light (I have plans to add additional plates to the ceiling when time permits.



I used a simple inline switch as the wall switch and attached it to the wall with a rare earth magnet.




For a small amount of wire management I'm using another 45lb magnet with a carabeiner attached to hold the wire up out of the way.



I am quite impressed at the amount of light coming from these led ceiling lights it's much brighter in person and I imagine once I finish painting the walls white it'll be even brighter!

Maiden voyage of the fold out room! We're at skidaway state park. We pulled in last night round 8:30 and I set the room up in about 10 minutes start to finish holding a flashlight in my mouth!

I found out earlier in the week that the site we booked wouldn't have sewer so in a rush I bought this 28 gal tank which I thought was pretty cool considering the features it has. Turns out it's too tall for the outlet coming out of the camper...

Looks like I'm going to have to do some type of lift station.

Now that I've prototyped and worked out the dimensions and construction I'll be posting the conclusion of the build, that being the fold out room. Be on the lookout for the cut lists and files
