If I didn't already say so, I must say I am very happy with the Truckfridge. The small freezer was big enough to hold 4 burritos, two meals worth of green beans, a small bag of kale, 2 salmon fillets, a half pound of ground buffalo and a half pound of ground turkey. The fridge held temperature pretty well, with a little air circulation help from a small fan. The fan does really help even out the temperature throughout the box, tempers the rise/fall swings. I did not have the watt meter hooked up to record power use but going by the resting state battery voltage it was miserly in its power use. And it is quiet enough to be hardly noticeable. Not loud enough to be any bother at all. That is with the stock fan too which is more noisy than the one I had picked out as a possible replacement in case the stock fan bothered us.

Some solar will be in the works sometime soon I hope, but there are other priorities at present.

You and Karen are so fortunate to live in and be able to visit such pretty country. While I like it here in the equally beautiful Appalachians, I envy you very much. Your areas to visit and be in awe of are much greater.

We love the Appalachians too! We do wish they were closer though. We'd still like to make another trip there. Fall would be nicest in our minds but our part time work schedule does impact that negatively. Late May through the summer would work, but summer heat 'n' humidity makes us take pause on that.

On another note, the brake issue was a broken connection. One of those "wonderful" scotchlok wire connectors failed, or rather the factory installation failed. Now that I replaced it the brakes are fine. My AC electrical problem was a faulty connection. That was my doing. I had pushed a neutral wire too far into the receptacle clamp style side terminal. That resulted in a tiny length of insulation being clamped on as well as the copper wire itself. After some road jiggle or whatever the insulation broke down and that resulted in a loose wire. That could explain why I was getting jumpy readings of around 55 volts with the meter. ??? Anyhow now the 120 VAC works.

Next issue is the little propane leak.

Sweet pics, RMNP is an incredible place. I was there two years ago and the best we could do with our infant son was a "quick" hike out to Cub Lake and a soggy scramble back to the campground as a thunderstorm blasted through. Someday we'll get out there for a more thorough exploration.

It is an Element. Called a 26 footer. Aluminum framed, composite sides, roof. His is a single slide 2012 model.

Which Great Stuff foam did you use? I'm thinking of using the door and window, because it's non-expanding. They also have the regular and the big gap brands.

I used door & window Great Stuff for most places and Dap door & window around the RV door frame. Partly because I had some DAP on hand and partly because the DAP cures to a still soft state. The Great Stuff door & window can still exert enough force to deform things IF it is trapped bewteen surfaces and IF it continues to expand. Which it can. The DAP stuff is approved and preferred by some vinyl window manufacturers, FYI. But I used mostly Great Stuff D&W, but was still careful. But I did end up with one spot in a rear door where some foam got trapped as it cured and it bulged the AL skin a slight amount. (That's what the expansion holes were supposed to prevent.)
