Getting close to being done with the last project for my son (this trip anyhow). It took me a few days to dig the 8 pylons down 4 ft. Had to rent a jackhammer to get through some old brick and cement footers from an old porch. His house is a 1905 model so God only knows what you may find when you start digging. Just have to plank the deck, build the steps and install the railing pickets. Plan is to be back on the road next Tuesday. Heading to Indiana first to visit and old Army buddy, then on to the Great Lakes and towards New England area.

All systems on the CTC working great. So happy with the performance. Been living full time in it for over 5 weeks so far.

Hey, when you put the diamond plate PVC on your ramp door, did you have to adjust the spring tension on the lift mechanism to compensate for the added weight?
Just curious. That's my Labor Day project.

Hi. Thanks. Yes, I have been working way too hard!

I did not adjust the tension, but it could use some tension adjustment. The door will slowly drop on it own if it gets tilted out some. You will just have to install it and see where you are at. Good luck.

I am wrapping the deck up. Just need to finish step rails and skirts. Wife is rejoining me tomorrow and we are heading back out on the road.

Got the new fabric installed on my awning. It went on easy enough. Thankful that is all that was needed. It only had another year or two of life anyhow.

Notice the new Camco Velcro straps to secure the awning. Will never leave without them installed. Was going to put a bolt through, but these were suggested and look like they will do the job. Thanks for the tip ( can't remember who suggested these).

I am so glad you posted about those awning straps. I think my awning is the same model as yours. I had no idea of the deployment risk. I am now going to secure my awning with straps like yours. Are the rings on the strap metal, and if so, is there any risk that they will abrade the paint on the awning arm?

Hi Tommy. No,didn't get to see McDave. He was staying at Custer State Park. I tried to contact him when I went to Custer, but he had already went home.

I am in Illinois tonight making my way east. Stopping to see someone in Indiana tomorrow then going north east towards Great Lakes.

Been raining for last 3 days up this way. My wife is in Wal-Mart getting groceries and I am out walking Lex. Enjoying just wandering.

Our overnight spot in a City Campground in Illinois. We have discovered many small towns in Midwest have City Campgrounds ussualy with at least electric and water and a dump station that are free or a nominal fee for one or two nights. Very nice when passing through. I wish there was a directory that listed them. Anyone know of one?

ingested from them over the years it should be something worth your while to invest in. Order and next time

That's good to know about the city campgrounds. You don't see many in Texas, but if you're ever in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I would recommend City of Grand Prairie's Loyd Park.

I wish there was a directory that listed them. Anyone know of one?

I can't say that they work for sure, but in preparation for our trip, I installed two recommened apps on my phone - Campendium and RV Life.
