How'd you bend the ProTapers? Takes alot to mangle them. Last ones I bent were because I bailed off a double that wasn't go to end well for me. The handlebars took the worst of it.

I ran out of talent pretty much, forgot to air down a front tire in the sand, pushed through a corner and off a dune, forty+ on the Speedo and I don’t remember anything but getting woke up, bars, radiator, helmet being wrecked and a concision, er visit and back to healing

Back in on November 24th

The bars were pushed low on the left side. Forks way out of wack

Have all the steel to start the bed rebuild, but wife and I now have Covid-19, so I may have to put it off a few days. I'll need some miscellaneous hardware and now that I have to quarantine, can't go to hardware store right away.

Must be a more contagious strain as I still cannot believe we did not come down with it in February after significant exposures from family.

flboy, Howdy;

Don, sorry to hear you & flwoman got the bug. Hope the best for ya both.
Most likely one of those colligate strains.

Speedy recovery to you both.

Many thanks Hank. We are only having mild symptoms, so very thankful for that.

Got the parts from Swag to allow me to mount my portable bandsaw to use more like a fixed bandsaw. Going to start the bed build now.

Also got in some LiFePo4 battery cells to make a 12vdc 25aH cell to make a small solar generator to run my Amatuer Radios in an emergency ( or etc.) . Will charge with portable 100w solar panel. The solar generator will have capacity similar to the Yeti and Jackery but cost about a third. Will also have a 300W pure sinewave output. Going to make a video on the build.

Now I have something to do while I have to quarantine. :-)

Started top balancing the cells in parallel. Need to be balanced before I build the bank and solder up the BMS and capacity test.

flboy, Howdy;

Hope the both of ya'll are feelin' better.

You go off into sparky speak so I gotta try to make sense of it.Found thisto explain the "why";

Then this to show the "How to";

It still doesn't make complete sense to me, but others may find it helpful. All depends
on how our individual brains are 'wired' I reckon. (yea, pun was intended). chuckle.

Ugly welds and I am not proud of them (I am just learning) , but I think they will hold, especially for what this is. Will hold up its own weight plus a few hundred more when the wife and I are on board. I just have to weld on the tabs that will stick out 1.25" on each corner which will rest on pins in struts. I will do that tomorrow and then spray paint. Then I will have to take out the existing bed and reuse the plywood and trim, and then reinstall.

Come on now they can’t be that bad. Let’s see how you did

You also can take some of your scrap parts and practice some joints, lap welds, vertical welds and such.

flboy, Howdy;

Good to see ya doin' stuff and not idle during your confinement.

Yup, practice is good but perfect practice makes for perfect results.
Had a friend tell me that once regarding tying flies. ymmv. chuckle.

won't be long now, ready for your "breakout"???
