That's what I figured, I'm going to bring some Grace ( waterproofing self adhesive membrane) to put on the bottom then fill it with foam. Not the end of the world but expected more from Haulmark.

Thanks for the heads-up on Haulmark. I've had mine two years now, and thankfully it didn't come with any unused holes or a gap in the floor. So far, the factory wiring is still working, and I've already worn out a set of tires on it. I agree that I would be disappointed though. In fact, I'd have promptly returned it and demanded a refund if there was space for water to splash into the trailer like your photo shows. :x

it looks to me like the floor fit at one time then for what ever reason it has slipped backward.
wonder what it looks like from under the trailer?
I think we expect the cargo trailers to be built like a tank
I have seen some here that had 2X4's as the wall studs
and some were rusting when the walls were removed.
I hope mine will be very water tight and wired like I would do it
good luck on your build I'll be watching.

It never fit right, just poor quality control, even if they had foamed it in with GreatStuff it would have been ok.
It's an 1-1/2" gap in the middle and there is a 1/2" gap between the steel and the frame as well.

pvangel, Howdy;

I not believin' you haven't drug it back to the dealer and asked
either for a new one, or a compleate repair of the discrepencies
at their expence... They at least need to be made aware of the faults.

My Team Spirit trailer had as gap up front in this exact same spot, but it was only about 3/4 inch wide.
I did take advantage of the gap and ran a wore through it before I siliconed the hole shut. I stuck duct tape up from the bottom of the trailer and then filled it in from the top till it was level with the floor, after it all dried I took the duct tape off from the bottom.

I don't have a good photo, but it was behind this metal plate up front in the nose of the trailer.

I agree. Expandable foam is a quick and easy fix for the gap. My Lowes trailer had the same problem.

Dadgum it! I cut that board 5 times and it's still too short!

The dealer that I bought it from was terrible, the only reason I bought it there was it was the trailer I wanted. When I asked for a price over the phone the salesman said $3900.00 and I said to make sure as I see these advertised for about a grand less so he checked with his manager and said I was right, the blowout price was $2999.00. when I went to pick it up I asked if there was a foot for the jack and they said "I don't see one so I guess not",(Every other one had one) I asked for the clip that goes in the lock down lever on the ball and they didn't have any, I asked if they could switch the black wheels on the trailer next to mine with my white ones (this was before I bought it,which I would have paid for) and they said they can't do that, They didn't have the screws that held on the license plate and it took them a half hr to find them.

I called an hour and a half before going saying that I was on the way to make sure everything was set to go and when I got there they had not "prepped" the trailer and had not done any paperwork on it,(I was the only one in the store besides the owner,salesman,girl,parts/IT guy) said I had to be there for that which entailed me sitting there for 45 minutes while the girl typed up the contract and looked for my lost paperwork and then discovered that none of the printers worked in the building so there IT guy (parts guy)did something (in between asking me to move while he changed a light bulb over my head and the desk of the girl trying to type my contract out on) twisted some wires together and kicked the printer to get it to print out the contracts(that last part I made up,he didn't kick the printer)

Soooo. Bringing it back to them would be like hitting my head on a concrete wall and wondering why I have a headache? I do intend to send pictures to Haulmark to express my displeasure, this is the 3rd Haulmark I have bought in 4 years.

pvangel, Howdy;

I'd also inform Haulmark about the way the Dealer
treated you. They may send someone to check'em out.

Merry Christmas!

Had some down time today between Christmas parties, got the whole trailer stripped and ready for wiring/insulation.

Image

I pulled the wires in for the interior lights.

Image

Had to drill a couple holes to get the wires in the studs,

Image

All the wires will go behind the base cabinet and enter next to my power center.

Image

I did silicone around the wholes to hold the wire away from the sharp edges.

Image

I also straightened out the factory wiring and secured it with tape.

Image

Started to put the insulation up, even carved out a little path for the wires to sit in.

Image

I was able to get most of the walls done today so need to do the roof still and then on to the fun stuff!

pvangel - Merry Christmas!

That's a lot of progress. Are your interior lights going to 110V or 12V? If they are 12V, I would be interested in what type of wiring you are using? I have read a lot about 12V wiring and will be starting my wiring in the next couple of weeks. Thanks!

I am going to keep everything 12v at this point, will probably have 1- 110 outlet for when I have my generator running. I ran a 4 wire 16 Ga. to each location, way overkill but I had the wire so no matter what I do I have wires run to multiple points, I will ground all fixtures at the point of mounting but send a ground wire back to a common ground by my power center. It always seems that if you have an electrical issue with 12v it is ground related so this will insure no problems(I hope).

I have it set for 4 ceiling lights( I am thinking doubles) a space for a non fan ceiling vent and a Fan-Tastic fan. I am planning on under cabinet lights as well, 2 over counter and 2 above couch.

I'm thinking of this for the floor, in RED... I have it in Black and White in my Garage and it has been great.

Image

I looked at Gfloor ( I have seen it expand in the heat and wrinkle up) as well as vinyl sheet and tile which I did in my present trailer and it has peeled up. Called Rust-Oleum today about the garage floor epoxy and they said it does not flex enough to be on wood, and would peel up. Got a quote on Rhino Lining today as well ($1600!!!!) which was to rich for my blood, checked into brush on bed liner which would be about $180 but have to have the right temp to install and a LOT of hand work anddddd it only comes in Black which I don't want so at $1.89 a sq ft and maybe a couple hrs install I am leaning towards these.
