Ron, I assume you are going to build a slide out base for the oven/stove?
BTW, the CT is looking good.

The door will fold out flat where you can slide the oven out and use it inside the trailer, it will be used outside most of the time. A 2 burner stove top will be installed for most of the inside cooking and coffee making.
Hot biscuits and gravy sure go good on the side of a mountain, I love this oven.
Thanks for the compliment .
When I get the cedar strips on the counter top and build the doors it should start looking better.
This is going to be a slow build ,I am going to try to keep it campable while adding to the inside.

Had a few hours loose so I started working on the over head cabinets ,Framing them up takes some figuring and time with the crowned ceiling.
But here we go

Guess it is time to start thinking about some doors.

I love those rounded corners in the upper openings. I am anxious to see how you cut the doors for them.
Good job!

Bob
I really havent made my mind up on the doors yet. I am thinking of trying a door with the same shape as the opening hinged on top.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Nothing pops to mind right away, but as I see other ideas that you might be interested in, I will send you the link. I am always going back and looking at other ideas. I might be close to getting my CT (a used one) so I do need to come up with something.

If you hinge on top, won't you need some sort of mechanism to hold the door open? Otherwise it might be cumbersome to access everything with one hand. Maybe a magnet latch on the ceiling or some bracket that holds it open.

I saw one poster awhile back leave then open (i.e. no door at all) which I might consider for side cabinets (not kitchen type) for storage of frequently used camping/hunting items. It was very clean looking. But for kitchen food and supplies, I do believe you need doors.

On another topic, I see that you are using construction quality plywood for the cabinets and then covering them with thin veneer. I want to have the hickory look and this would be a lower cost alternative for me rather then buying 1/2 and 3/4 inch hickory plywood sheets. Use regular Big Box Store plywood and then order special hickory veneer in 1/8 or 1/4 inch thick.

Bob
I have a Casita with doors that hinge from the top and really like them ,it isnt a problem retrieving things and they always stay shut :D
Using the ply to frame with works well and it is much stronger.
I used 1/4 inch and framed with cedar.

Great idea....and must cost less. Am definitely going to try and do this.

And hopefully, next week, I am able to drive to NC from VA and purchase a used 2013 7 x 14 so I can start all that I have on my "build" list.

Bob
The only bad problem with getting your trailer is not wanting to stop working on it.
