HALLMARK 6X12 CONVERSION

Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Yup, me three. Ya know, I feel like these things should be unique as we all have different styles, and different definitions of what perfect is. For me, form follows function, and part of the challenge is use things in different ways than originally intended. But it's gotta work. I'd be willing to bet when all is said and done, the trailers will match pretty closely the personality of the builder. What an amazing experience. What should we do next? Homebuilt aircraft? Just throwin' it out there.

For better or for worse they are very reflective of your personality. I really have come to see this. Yes McDave, functionality/dependability/cost. I Don't care too much what it looks like within reason. Uniqueness is a bonus in all our work.

I keep looking at mine and I'm thinking I should see on the side in big letters.." TOMMYS TUB N TOILET " or something.

If you need encouragement to get out and ride, watch a few minutes of this video. Clears his goggles in seconds don't worry. Youtube this!

We gotta be related, somewhere in there. I'm just now gettin' around to puttin' lipstick on this pig. But I have taken her on several outings, and she just keeps getting better and better. I wont know what to do when she's all dressed up, probably sell and start over? That should make the wife happy..... :D or not.
Listen Brother, you got nothin' to be ashamed of, that is a righteous rig you built. Not many people have even tried. It looks just like you... that's a compliment. I love the way you just get in there and make sh** happen. Head first, Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. Awesome.

Thank You Mcdave. You seem to connect with everyone like family. seriously. Like in my head connection. Related or you have telepathic powers.

Yes we will suffer post partum depression I'm afraid. Don't want to birth another C.T just yet though. Going to let this one grow and improve a bit.

BUT, After 8-9 months of this, I find myself wondering what to do on my off time with out this project. So challenging mentally but in a fun way.

 what next?

You'll build another! We have the same disease. There is no cure.

My "next" is a trailer to pull behind the RoadKing when the wife and I just want to escape on two wheels. I borrowed a friends last fall and it worked out great. We did over 1400 miles in 4 days and never stayed in a hotel.

Ok, back to work. Want to do this next. Any body do this yet?

 Velcro. Inside mount.

Where can I get something like this? Any Ideas on how to fabricate? Cannibalize an old tent perhaps?

Also need light weight stands to hold ramp level but wont dent door.

Total enclosure is cool but too many poles and parts??

Thanks.

I found this. Its cheap. Foldable I think. Magnetic. Could double them up. sew them together were I need to.

It is a funny picture but for once that was not my intention. $14.00 on amazon would need 2-3 sets if I went that way.
This C.T has more surprises to give up. I aint done yet.

Tommy... you could just do the screen on the opening with magnets. If bugs are too bad or raining , set inside... else just set under the awning or on the ramp/deck in the open. I am going to try that first... I have read that those screen porches on the ramps are impossible to set up solo and very frustrating at best with two sets of hands... then when you go riding.. you have to dismantle if you are going to close the ramp to lock up. .

Having the back open with a screen will be great for ventilation in any case.

Yes Don. That's what I will do. One piece with an opening. Pop up over ramp which I have. No jacks necessary.

Now first I will try to hang it just forward of the cable spool so I can close ramp with out dismantling. I think I can. If not, then out side with magnets or maybe snaps or Velcro.

 Those darn cables. Also see the potential for a wet bed with mesh. Maybe a shower curtain. Clear maybe.

Thanks
