"Child proof" latches are great for keeping doors and drawers closed.

Ele problems

Postby kkayv » Wed Apr 24, 2013 3:12 pm

So I buy a new trailer. Just got new wiring and hitch. Everything SHOULD work, right?
WRONG. Got this strange problem all of a sudden where the running lights on the trailer just ceased to work. After popping many fuses on my truck finally figured out that every time the trailer got hooked up to the truck a fuse would pop. Finally found a live wire in the trailer that connects to the back rear light. Pretty shoty work for a new trailer!! Let the dealer know that I was disapointed with this! Why is everything made so badly these days?

I had the same problem with my trailer but what I did was I gutted the inside and then took out all the factory installed wiring on my 2012 Haulmark trailer and then ran a heavier gauge and ran the wires proper and not like how the factory did it which was :?

Best thing to do whenever buying a trailer and converting it to a CT and will be covering the walls and insulating them, I would take the extra time and money to gut the factory job of wiring and doing it the correct way and you will feel so much more safer sleeping at night and also not have to worry about tearing it all apart to redue the wiring down the road. DO it right the first time and trust me it will be less of a headache later.

I don't see any insulation in the ceiling? I would think that would be done before anything else starts going in?

Yeah... I am not doing the insulation. Too much of a pain! I am mostly using this for MX- only a little camping. And when I do camp I'm with other people with big trailers. :)

I see your point...but the ceiling insulation IMO is critical. It's not the cold so much, but the condensation that you'll get on the ceiling. On even a moderately cool night you'll have rain dripping from the rafters. Ask me how I know :FNP

My wall storage Contraption

Postby kkayv » Mon May 06, 2013 9:33 am

After much research I couldn't find anything suitable for my clothing storage and personal items. I am going to make a wall hanging contraption with pockets in it to store my clothes. No more suit case! Here are pics of the layout and first pocket art. :)
