Oh yes, the black tank hose container. 5 feet of 6 inch pvc pipe and two end caps. Some how mount to under frame. THEN I am done.

Is your hose that large in diameter? 6 inches seems large. I though a 4inch pipe would do it. I better measure my hose?

Don I had a 3 foot section of 4 inch and was able to at least check it for fit. Too small for my camco hose. That 90 degree fitting makes it bigger for my hose. 5 inch might work but 6 inch seems standard for PVC pipe and very easy to find along with caps.

Hope that helps.

Hey I am looking for advice.

Im a little concerned that this set up is a tad low. It still is higher than the bottom of the axel by a little but I was thinking if you dropped a wheel in a pot hole or was in deep sand and roots it could get hung up. I dunno

I could easily place the leaf springs on top of the axel with a 60-70 dollar kit I think. Right?

Am I being paranoid or sensible?

Thanks. Please chime in.

I'm on a cell phone so I can't really see how much ground clearance you have.
But in general anything hanging down unprotected is usually what gets hit.
The kit is cheaper than bigger wheels , you get 3-4* inches out of it.
*some claim 6" but I got 3-4.

Padilen,

Thank you. Yes cheaper than bigger tires and god only knows what damage could happen if it did hit a root, rut, curb, and even some of the many truck tire strips that litter I-95.

I welcome more input. Depending on what I hear from you guys I will most likely order it first of the week and do this next Saturday. Hopefully I can flip receiver and ball and it will be level so I don't have to buy a new receiver also. They are expensive.

At first I was only going to make a shield of some sort but thought about it. 3-4 inches and a shield would give me piece of mind at least.

Have good weekend!

Tommy B. Howdy;

Ok,
1) How far below the trailer frame is the lowest part of your plumbing discharge?

2) How far below the trailer frame is the lowest point of your suspension?

3) Is your plumbing in front of the suspension?

4) Do you anticipate (likelihood of 80% or greater), of getting into seriously rugged terrain?
(tow vehicle going up at a sharp angle while trailer still going downward creating a 'pinch'?)

These are questions you (IMO), should consider while considering your options. I would go
with the guard just for peace of mind about road debris alone. Jacking the trailer is to me,
a double edged sword. True it improves your ground clearance but increases the ability to
have a 'pinch' as in question 4.
By elevating the trailer you will also be creating the need for steps. How are your knees?
The fold-up type are nice but if you get a double then you'll need to always find a location
that will permit both to be deployed. A single will/might require a 'helper' step that you'll
need to bring in at night and deploy in the event you need to step-out at any time later in
the evening or early morning.

All-in-all your trailer, your time, your $'s ... the above is only part of the mental process I find
myself going through.

Good luck and please keep us posted as to your decision.

"Just this one last switch and then I am done, finally!" "Just this one last screen porch project and then I am done, finally!"
" just this one last lift kit...."
Hmmmmm,...Who does that sound like? It sounds like someone just lookin' for work. Oh yea, how bout' this one, "My poor, poor beautiful wife...."

Dude, you don't ever HAVE to be done, it's a journey, not a destination. Nobody here is gonna' judge ya', and say things like "Oh that Tommy, what a no good, lazy, drunken Irishman he turned out to be." Well, nobody but me, and Hank, and Don, and probably some other people you don't even know. But that's it. Nobody else is gonna judge ya'. Probably.

But here's the point. You could take some of the time that you have earned, and go camping and riding? Or, take that lovely wife of yours into your arms and look her straight in the eyes and tell her how lucky she is to have a guy like you. Or better yet, tell her how lucky you are to have a supportive and understanding and amazing woman like her to share your life. Then take her out and kiss her ass the way it deserves to be kissed.
Guess what? All this trailer stuff will still be here, waiting for ya'. Unless you piss her off, and she decides to burn it to the ground....just sayin.

Anywhoooo..... Have a GREAT weekend Tommy, I love ya brother. I'll check ya soon... ;)

Ok water pump switch done. Thank you Don.

After much research on the stinky slinky holder, It is better to just go with the valterra version when its all said and done. $47.00 or so.

I will forgo the lift kit and place the tube holder just in front of the tank. It will provide some protection I think. Maybe grind an angle into those brackets to help with deflection.

Oh Mcdave I am not looking for work brother I only want to do this once and do it right. Time will tell if I made the right call. I will order that tube today.

Thanks for the input, always appreciated.
