Re: HALLMARK 6X12 CONVERSION

The problem I am having with PVC is I need 5 inch and for some reason only 4 inch is available unless you go to a pluming supply or irrigation supply store and they don't sell shorter sections and its pricy. Plus there closed on weekends after 12 noon. They might let you rummage through the broken stuff there not gonna use but then end caps for that size may be an issue. I just gave up on a home made version of PVC pipe storage unit as such.

But I am stretched too thin as I am nearing the end and Hankeye I see the mounting hardware for those posts but did not see an actual install Picture yet of how to use those 4x4s to store the hose. My first thought is weight. Second is waste leaking out the slinkey a little and being absorbed by wood over time. But I am clueless to this set up. Is there a link Hank, Please? I think those posts go for around 5 bucks. So I will check back before I order that $47.00 valterra tube from amazon to see what you guys have to say.

I am now totally done inside for this year. Just this waste tube and unfortunately rims and tires. The rims look to be two piece and they are very rusted where the pieces meet. The tires tread is good but they are cracked all over the tread area. I keep thinking I could get another season out of them but an inner voice says DONT DO THAT. :( More $$ we don't have.
Thanks Hank and everyone else for your input. Much appreciated.

Are you sure you need 5"? The hoses are 3" and the fittings add 2" ? I sure the old square bumpers were 4".
Yep

As for smell - then your doing it wrong. Rinse rinse rinse.
Now you were going to use this for protection of the tank or just for storage?
Because I have no money I'm using a kitty litter bucket for my waste hose storage.

Hey Padilen,
Yeah when you look at the specs for the valtarra tube its like 4.25 or something close. Only a tad over four as I have 4" PVC and it almost fits. AGG!
Hey I have to say I was thinking that maybe this hose will coil up in a home depot bucket along with the valterra flush king. I like your Idea of the kitty container. I think I know I have seen them at Walmart. I will check this out today. Thank you P dog! 8)

I looked at those rims. Two piece, welded in four spots. Welds are solid but that flaky chunky rust in the inner circle is got me concerned. Going up to Wal-Mart now to look around. Got to save here some how.

Thanks again!

Yeah any bucket with a lid or a storage container. I reuse my kitty litter buckets, for a lot of things.
What are you doing with rims?

Ok back from Wal-Mart. Wow what a circus and freak show that can be.
Found my exact tire and rim combo right in the center isle. $105.00 a piece. So $250 on the tires and rims but not today! Next payday, next week. I will take the better of the old rim tire combos and see if the local tire shop will put a tire on it and use it for a spare.

When I compare the new tires/rims to what is on the trailer now its a miracle I did not get a blow out back in February. Must be done.

Lastly, that camco hose will not fit in a home depot bucket. I did look at those kitty litter containers and I think they are just a little too small. I am going to purchase that Valterra storage tube for $47.00 from amazon. Man I beat that to death but when all said and done, right there by release valve for use and storage. less hassle in the long run.

Thanks everybody. Pics when storage tube is installed next week.
Have a good weekend!

Hey I have read the reviews for that valterra tube holder. inside diameter 4.4 may not be enough room for my camco rino flex hose end after all. that 90 degree fitting does not fit for most people. Some people had to grind down the tabs on the end fitting to make it fit. I have a few weeks to get this right. May custom order 5 or 6 inch PVC or go like Padilian did with a solid screw lid container large enough for hose and accessories. But then where is container stored?

Anybody tackle this have pictures or advice??

Hi Tommy. Sounds like this 90deg fitting is the problem? What does that look like and why do you need the 90deg fitting? The hose flexes? I was looking at my arrangement and I have no 90deg. hose fitting.

The switch looks nice.

Is this the 90? It's what I have. Twist lock on off? Take it off store it somewhere else?Image
Got to be an easy solution. I like the idea of the tube. I plan on making one someday as it will protect my clean out too.

That's the bitch kitty right there. A major frustration. That 90 degree will come apart but its a pain when never been used let alone contaminated. Its not made to do so. Also that other orange hole adapter from what I read will not fit in a 4.4 tube. But neither will the flush king.

HALLMARK 6X12 CONVERSION

Postby Padilen » Sun Oct 02, 2016 6:04 pm

Ok I've got another idea. Check and see how wide a vinyl rain gutter is. If it's wide enough-They must make ends. Get ends mount one to close off the furthest end. Use one to make a door or use Velcro to attach it. Have this end mounted were you can reach it. And if needed have the 90* hang out with a Velcro strap.
Oh I just googled, over 4" and end caps ! But even better an elbow!

Ok.. the 90 degree is the problem.. just get one that is straight. The hose will bend and ypu are going to have to help the last part out in any case between ground level and the top of the drain input. Then a 4inch pipe should do you .

Or you could use a 4 inch pipe and then get a 6 inch to 4 inch reduction and connect to the 4 inch pipe. That reduction should handle the 90 degree fitting and the remainder will push back in the 4 inch pipe.

Hey Tommy,
Man, you just gotta marvel at the way all these problem solvers come to the aid of a fellow builder. But you have really lucked out having Don on your side. He's got that engineers mind set and the ability to break it down to simplest solution. What a Pro. :applause:
