Hi Hank. No skirts available. Just going to rough it.

Glufcoast, I have a manual Aleko awning. This is the second one I bought. I'd buy another. Good quality and price.

Wind is always a problem. They do handle wind well, but I'd not leave it deployed in wind and leave it. I also have some anchor straps the further improve the wind performance.

I think Lex is trying to tell me it is time to get up and let her out.

Do you happen to have a picture of it open on the trailer?

flboy, Howdy;

Ya, seen that kinda luck on Rascal's face a few times. chuckle. Always good
to let them out when they remind us that there' no indoor facilities for them.

I can read the caption? For some reason the resolution is very poor.

Maybe you covered it but the back door is the vent on the AC. Do you pull cold from the side ? How well did it work on the trip for you ? Im planning a trip to GC in July and worried about the AC.

Yes, it pulls outside air from the side and it is blown out the back. It has been working great. I did not need AC at all for this trip; used a lot of heat however. I did a video on the installation. If you go back towards the beginning of this thread, I link most of the build videos and have pics as well.

Thanks. I think Ive watched 100 videos on adding AC to a CTC. More I watch the more I wonder if it will work ! Sadly I've found very few who have done a video after its installed and used. Only found one for a van who said it was a waste of time. I have a VNose and ramp so can't do either of the easy solutions. Yours is ideal but dont have that option. Think my HOT air will go out front of V and pull fresh from under trailer. That the plan anyway. Hoped to get to that point this weekend but cold and windy again. Maybe next weekend.

Hey Don, the bubble caption reads "You THINK!??? Why I oughta....".

Sorry it was hard to read; I can remember when our dog gave us that look; you better be quick or you were going to get a "present" to clean up, ha! :lol:

If you click on the picture it expands to a bigger picture; at least it does on my computer, ha!

LOL.... okay, I can see it on my laptop well. My phone doesn't render it properly for some reason. Thanks!

So far, Lexus has seemed to not care how cold it is. Tonight, it is 3 degrees F with 20 mph winds and snow flurries. She wanted to go out... so I opened to door... she jumped out... ran around in circles, looked back at the door. I opened it and she jumped right in. I think I have found her threshold! :)

I have the diesel heater cranking and it is keeping it at 60F... I have the fan running on the pipes and so far so good. I will see -5F before I leave Thursday. Way too frigid for this Florida boy, but happy to spend time with my son and grandkids. I am timing my departure to avoid the Ice storm I'd run into if I leave Wednesday. My wife flew home today. At this point... I just want to go home to warmer weather. I hope to be at my home in Florida by Saturday PM.... but I am happy my CTC can take it if I want to venture into the colder weather... Personally, I'd rather be running the AC than the Heater.. but that is just what I am use to. I do acclimate quickly in any case and enjoy the adventure.

Lex even likes snow. This is near Vale,CO when I stopped for a driving break on the way from Grand Canyon to my Son's place.

BTW.... I also built a 7*18 with 2ft V-nose conversion that has a ramp door. I built in a window AC in this trailer too. I designed a midship appliance stack on the left side to accommodate the Air Conditioner at the roof line. This may help you. It works outstanding for me in hot and humid Florida! Been going strong for well over 5 years. I'd do this again! My guess is that anyone "poo pooing" this has either not designed the installation with adequate condenser circuit air exchange, or did not insulate well to the point where the Air Conditioner has no chance of keeping up, or a combination of both.

Check this out ... viewtopic.php?f=42&t=65498&start=240

go to page 17 (on PC) around July 1, 2016 and then a few pages that follow.... Vents out the side and I draw air from the roof. In full disclosure, I did put in a 8K BTU later... 6K BTU did it , but struggled with the 7*18 in the really hot weather. Motivation was that the 8K BTU GE unit did also start with my Honda 2000 Gen in Eco Mode whereas the 6K BTU unit would not and had to leave it in full out mode. Probably due to a cheaper compressor startup circuit...

flboy, Howdy;

If my memory serves me, didn't you also have a ramp mounted ac in your first trailer?

I did.. should have mentioned that. I just cut the hole in the bottom and made a door to slide it out. Made so 4 wheeler could straddle the opening and motorcycle could go left or right of it.
