CGRotorhead, Howdy;

One very cheap and dang-near fool-proof method for not backing into things
is a method used by Truck drivers. It's called G.O.A.L. stands for Get Out And Look.
Most of their mirrors have that etched into the bottom and you can see things
the camera won't pick up like things that can flatten a tire or ding the roof.
Just my $0.02 ...

I don't think you are understanding what the back up camera is mounted for... It's for hooking up to the trailer and for everyday driving situations. The camera isn't mounted to the trailer it's mounted to my truck. Either way when I back the trailer up I will be using my tow mirrors and checking behind me. The camera makes backing up to and hooking up to the trailer a heck of a lot easier. I just back up till the red line is over the top of the tongue then lower it down onto the hitch

and this one,

I reckon I got confused, sorry about that.

Ya my everyday driving was a pain with not being able to see when I was backing up. Especially during the night. Backing up to the trailer was such a frreaking pain, I would have to get out and check back up a bit and check again. Now its just back right up to it and drop it down. Money well spent

Well i finished up the trailer today, I fiinished all the wiring and got all the panels back on.
Back of the switch panel, looks kinda messing but everything is labeled
Image
This where I ran the wire up from under the floor
Image
This is where it comes out so I can mount it to the fuse panel
Image
All the switches. The white one is for the dome light that runs off of the trucks battery while hooked up
Image
Image
Cut two holes in the trim and hooked up both outlets there
Image
One is just a 12v socket and one is USB
Image
And with power applied
Image
The 6 blade blue seas fuse panel all hooked up

With all the panels back in place and floor a nice and vaccumed up

Got my interior lighting in today. With two 6 foot sections, if I need more light all I need to do is attach more with the special no solder connectors that I got.

I'm interested to hear your review on the lightstrips after it's all hooked up. I went with LED Dome lights for now, but I think adding some lightstrips wouldn't be too hard if my dome lights aren't enough.

Sorry if I missed it, but what are the rated lumens on those?

CG

I just installed 2 - 5 meter RGB LEDS in my cargo. Im pretty happy with them, good light. I added a music controller to them so the kids can rock out.

These are the ones I got. I ordered six 3' strips and the connectors I would need to hook them all together

So I finally got around to mounting my lights. They come with double sided tape and I mounted them to the roof ribs. Now they are bight but not blinding which is perfect.

This is one strip only, you can see that they put out a very good amount of light for only being 3 feet long

Lights off

And on, let there be light!!

So I had an early Friday today so I got some stuff done. I made a wind deflector for my roof rack out of some scrap aluminum we had down at the hangar. I put it in the paint booth and gave it a couple coats. I also got a pair of free napa deep cycle batteries from a buddy to replace the old truck battery I had been using. One 180 min reserve capacity should do fine for my needs, with the ability to add another one. The other one will be used on my new beavertail 2000 sneak boat.

New digs. It will fit in the trailer at a diagonal or with the bow up on the front wall.

This one will be used with a Newport Vessles 55lb thrust trolling motor
Image
Or I can put it in my truck bed

I put a back-up camera in my 2007 Taco and swear by it. Not just for hitching up but for avoiding backing into sh@t. Having a camper shell is damn handy but sure blocks your vision.

Your build is looking great.

I like that Wind Deflector design. Seen some posts with Solar Panels on top and they were worried about the mounting stability and wind. That would work pretty well on the front of the trailer to take some of the strain off the panels.
