looks like "Home Depot Orange" to me. Just park near the rental trucks :-) :D

The insulation was the reason behind going with max width, space disappears quick.

Good luck with your project.

They are in surprisingly good shape. Combination of patience, research, luck, and lazt minute panic payed off.

Seems close. Parked in front it matches their large orange lettering. The original owner ran a Harley Davidson shop, might be a closer mstch.

The thing about a trailer is you can move it. If I was living in a trailer at 40 below I would drive it south!!!

Thats the way most people think, which is a big reason wages are high here.
I can only go as far south as canadas borders though. After 911 the US demanded that canadians have a passport to visit. I opted to just never visit, lots to see and do here, and otber places I can spend my money.

Added a staircase so they can crawl into and out of bed at their leisure.

Had changed my mind about a separate cold room a while back, but with a minus 30 blitz inbound I had to work with what I had and huddled up for 3 days... then spent the next 4 days thawing out the frost and drying out that room.

Demolished the dividing wall and built a table at the front. All thats left to insulate now is the man door. Overjoyed at 2am when I completed the table since I no longer have to sleep with my groceries.

You bet! We have eight (or do they have us?). This one is my owner, though.

Wish I could take her along on trips, but I'd have to carry her on my arm everywhere. And she barks a bit too much (the watchdog of our pack). Too bad, she's a great Dorkie.

Hey Chilley Willey

Did Dr Doo Little move in with you ? Wasn't he up there in NY in 7ft of snow

How hard is it for you to change the sheets with that set up ?

Also I guess you could close that bed area off more
And install some water tanks around or under your bed - filling them with 140 water around 20 -40 gallons
should be able to keep you toasty warm even in - minus 40 deg weather , then you just need to heat
your water before bedtime every night.

Great work so far - just get 3" foam on that side door ASAP !!!

The fitted sheet is a pain to change. Pulling the old one off isn't too bad, but the fresh one gets tossed up and only the front two corners can be fit, for the back two I have to climb on top and wrestle the mattress.

I got a flex frame from ikea & 4" foam mattress that makes it easier to change
With a full size mattress it was nearly impossible.

Did you get your door insulated - should make Hugh differance -
Last night I picked up 30 deg over the exterior WITHOUT A HEATER !!
Waiting to see how yours turns out

Finished up in time for the latest winter storm... storm number 5 and more than 3 weeks till winter starts

3 inches of wood around the perimeter... except for the right side where the hardware is mounted... jusr 1.5 inches. 2 1/2 inches of insulation board in the middle.

This morning it was minus 38 not including wind chill. Trailer is warm with some cool spots... space heater is running most of the time though.

Happy with the door. The 1.5 inches of wood are no cooler to the touch than the rest. Only issue is an unacceptable amount of frost buildup where the draft comes through. I can certainly force the door open but worried about busting the wood where it sticks.

Nothing unexpected... was just hoping that the draft could be used as my fresh air supply... will be sealing it up more air tight when we warm up in a few days. Have a 3 inch by 3 inch hole in the floor where I pass the electrical cord in, will be experimenting with that as my air supply next.
