I got home tonight with the goal of spending an hour and a half on the build. The outside shower is installed. The cargo hauler is starting to look like a camper with all the stuff on the sides now. I have three more holes to cut on this side. One for the water inlet, one for the AC Vent at the top near the wheel wells and I bought a 13 inch Portal Window for the bathroom. My wife wanted some natural light in there and I really didn't want to cut in a skylight. The exhaust fan I bought is a 6 inch diameter stack type and does not really let light in.



This will be handy for cleaning up outside if I get real muddy riding... or just to rinse the salt off after the beach.



This placement was something I needed to be sure lined up. The vanity will hide the enclosure sticking through the wall, but will also tap off the same Cold Water and Hot Water supply as the sink.

This is the vent and Port hole window I bought for the CTC. I really did not want another crank up vent on the roof since there is already one in the main area. The fan in this vent is a 200CFM fan, so I imagine it will do a good job of venting the steam from the shower and whatever other gases may be present. The window is something to let some natural light in. I have limited options on where to install the window on the wall; however, I want to make sure the lines on the outside look good also. We''ll see.

That is what I was thinking. Do you put another head on the shower? Something more like a garden hose spray handle?

I guess if you needed higher pressure for removing mud etc. you might need the garden attachment, most of the time for me its just dust and smashed bugs and guts, sometimes grime from rain riding. (Well almost always rains sometime during the Sturgis Rally, count on it)
Bikini Bike Washes are also good...... but can get expensive. However, if you could get a bikini wash at your CTC...

I was able to get the other side loft window in tonight. I still have bracing to do on the inside and to screw it all down well, but the hard part is done. I have another large window for this side to install, but I want to wait to get the dinette built on the inside or at least roughed in so I can be sure the window is centered on it and hung at the perfect height for looking out while setting at the table.

This is what the bracing looks like before I insulate and close up the wall. Given the small size of the windows, I didn't see the need to weld in a frame. I used 1 inch Aluminum tubing to tie together the studs and provide a solid surface top and bottom for the window to screw into, then I cut 1/2 in. Marine plywood to fit around the window and liquid nailed it to the wall on the inside. Then then the sides of the windows screw into plywood. It all seems to be tied together well and the wall feels just as strong as before I cut the hole.

I see my German Shepard dog photo bombed me. His name is Benz. I used to have another dog named Mercedes, but she died. Mercedes and Benz were buddies!

I installed the bathroom vent fan after work tonight. Of course it needs to be wired and trimmed once I have the ceiling installed. The fan specifications state it pulls 200CFM. We'll see. In any case, it should be adequate for the bathroom to draw out steam from the shower and etc..

I can't imagine how much "pucker factor" it is to cut holes in a perfectly good and new cargo trailer. If/when I get to building a conversion, that is going to be a huge mental block for me to overcome. (I'm in the measure twice, cut once crowd, but with cutting holes in CT, I'm sure I'll have to measure at least four times before cutting.) Besides showing me how to do it, you've given me confidence that I can cut holes in the sidewalls and roof.

aggie79, Thanks for the nice comments. I have found that cutting the holes is easy. The hard part is making sure they are the right size and in the right place.

I have to cut the AC intake vent on the roof and the exhaust vent on the side soon. I will have to do this anticipating how the interior walls will come together and where the Air conditioner will sit in a cabinet yet to be built.

I should make some progress this weekend. More pics to come. :-)

Well, I didn't get the AC Vents cut in yet this weekend, but it's not over yet.

I did get the old vent out and installed the new Maxxair vent with fan. This is going to pull some air. It has a real hefty motor in it. The Dicor is still leveling... so I expect that to look a little better when cured.. I gues it don't make any difference when it is on the roof... as long as I have no leaks.. I'll call it a success.

Running down to Home Depot to get a few things I need to start building the A/C sidewall bracing and roof Vent hole. I'll post some pics if I get it all done. :-)

I ran out of time this weekend for the AC Vents, but I did get one more thing done today. I got the left side gravity fill and city water inlet cut in. I have a gravity fill for the other side tank that needs to be installed also.

With my youngest daughters college graduation, family in town, and Mother's day next weekend, I expect this will be it until the weekend after next.
