Works fantastic. Cant rain or leak in (if it does, I'll have to add a bilge pump, lol)

Thanks for the info.. My tank vent works very good in any case. I used it on my last trip and the water has never drained so fast from the sink or shower. No smells coming from the vent either.

The portable 12vdc winch should be in later this week. I went ahead and made the connection cable from some 3/32 wire cable I had, some hooks from a dry rotted tie down, cable crimps, and a scrap piece of 1 inch square tubing (to maintain spread for rear tire clearance).

This is how it will connect to the foot pegs for the winch to pull the bike in backwards.

Why do you want to pull the bike backward?

Main reason is so the handlebar doesn't line up with the side window. Any serious rocking side to side and the handlebar could break the window. The handlebars are within an inch of the window when pulled in forward.

Second reason is mainly for when traveling on the road and I am staying inside the camper overnight and not removing the bike. The handlebars being up front would make it hard to get around the bike so I can sit on the couch.

In a nutshell, I have the bike mount as close to the right side as possible and the bike goes in backwards so I can use the trailer when traveling without removing the bike. This configuration maximizes the useable space and eliminates the possibility of breaking the window with the handlebar.

Pushing the bike up the ramp is very hard for me when solo, especially since I underslung the axle and raised the height of the trailer about 6 inches. The winch will make it easy.

Riding up forward would be easier for sure. With my 7x18 CTC, I just ride them in.

re. loading a bike solo. I used to use a pair of 2x6's and have the bike running
I could walk beside the bike on the second one as it rolled itself up the ramp
in 1st gear. That was on an older pick-up with a tailgate that laid down below
level as they all tend to do now days.

Hi Hank. I've done similar with the 12 inch wide tracks. :-)

Ok, here's how it will go. I already have a 30A 12VDC outlet on the wall in the back to power my HAM radios which is within reach of stock cable. Also, the wired remote switch appears to be long enough, so I may not modify for the wireless remote I already have. May not be needed. We will see.

Will put threaded screw anchors into the floor where I can attach the plate. Plate will also come off when not in use, then I will maintain the portable aspect of the winch on the hitch. Not sure what I would use it for, but....

I went ahead and modified the winch to add a wireless remote. It will just be easier to manage. The wired remote was not as long as I thought.

Used a remote receiver which I happened to have from another project and a 12vdc relay to simulate the press button on wired remote. I was able to tuck the receiver in the casing, but had to keep the relay outside. Also can use the wired remote if needed. I just tacked onto the wiring inside, so original plug is intact.

It is in. Seems to work fine. Will use it to pull the bike in early next week when I am loading for the trip, but this is how it will set up.

The screw mounts are flush with the floor. I moved it back as far as needed for the last etrac slot in case I ever want to pull in the Victory Kingpin. Being back so far, the entry carpet covers over the mounts so this mod is essentially transparent. I think this will be a huge improvement for me.

I had no idea that a remote switch could be wired in ... but now I do. Thanks for the lesson!

Yes... just have to know which wires to tack onto. Having a DVM helps so you can trace the wiring. But basically you can do that with any 12vdc device ( remote car start for instance) with a 12vdc remote receiver and a standard 12vdc automotive relay.

Custom fit the E-track to fit with the table mount eh. chuckle.
How is Ms. Lexi liking the e-track to lay on? Don't let her collar
tags get hooked in the track slots.
Bet it makes ya wear something on your feet as well. more chucklin'.

Hi Hank. She doesn't mind with her three inch memory foam bed in place.

You do get use to the Etrac on the floor and the table mount is in a place where you wouldn't typically set foot. It is a small space and alot to fit in being a toy hauler also, so some compromises had to be made along the way.
