Started on the bathroom wall yesterday.



Got'er all framed up. I promise the walls are straight. I was using my cheapy china wide angle phone lens.

I bought the trailer with the interior molding uninstalled. So I was given a pile of bent corner molding/flashing.
Tonight I put my first piece up.


I am not a huge fan of Harbor freight tools, But this little hand punch has been really handy. It punches this stuff like butter.


I used an end drop to make a pattern. Trim and fit it, then transfer to full size piece.

In order to get my shower stood up in the trailer I had to cut one of the flanges off. It also needed to fit under this valance/thing. Well The gap ended
up being about a 1/2" and kinda ugly. So today I tackled the shower molding project I have been putting off.


I traced the shower edge onto some cardstock that I taped together, I then bent this piece of aluminum to fit.


By cutting off the flange of the shower, the shower wall was kinda floppy. So I made this wild confabulation. It is a 1/4" self tapping screw welded to a long
coupling nut. The all thread is then double nutted in very tight.


I made a small slot in the shower, then chucked the all thread thing up in the drill and screwed it into the sheeting and tubing in the front wall.
Before I slipped this thing behind the wall I put a nut and washer on loosely that I was able to run up against the back of the shower wall.


Put on a little copper paint. Cut off the all thread with the dremel and put on a pretty little acorn nut (and a few stainless screws.)
I am happy to announce that it is now anchored quite solid.

I had to hog out a wire path before putting up the bathroom wall paneling.

First off, Thanks Don, Randy, McDave and Hader for the Thumbs Up. I got a little bit more done today. "Yay"
Taped a couple poster boards together and scribed the ceiling. You have to look kinda close to see the pencil line.


Cut the line on the poster board and traced it onto this ridiculously expensive piece of prefinished 3/4" birch.
Needless to say I measured more than a few times before I cut.


Built this temporary router guide.



Got the board stood up in place, put a few screws in. The blue tape was to show me where to put the screws. And routered out the doorway.

Put up a few more pieces, more routering and PRESTO my wall is covered!

That's some nice clean work on that wall. But that panelling is beautiful! What is that?
That is starting to be a pretty sweet rig. Keep that stuff up.

That is starting to be a pretty sweet rig. Keep that stuff up.

It is some stuff I picked up at Home Depot but I wouldn't recommend it. I bought it hoping
it would add some structural strength being that it was 3/4" plywood. But the stuff is warpy,
soft, and the veneer is super super thin. Also the bright halogen work light brings out a lot of that curly birch grain.

Thank you for your efforts in posting pics and details. As someone looking for ideas on this site, your personal hygiene area provides a good visual for what I have in mind. Can you provide info on the exhaust fan you have in your "library" area? Anything that will help look it up online.

Here is a little short story for ya.
The slip fitting in my black tank's vent hole was too big. Every fitting I tried in it was sloppy. I didn't dare just glue it.
I kicked around epoxy, but I didn't want to wait around for two days for a test to dry. Anyway I settled on a method a friend
had told me about years ago. I took a scrap piece of abs, clamped it in the vice. Built this lovely cardboard fixture to catch
a bunch of fine shavings that I ground off with my awesome Roto-Zip.


Poured abs glue over the shavings, mixed until it melted all the abs into a thick paste. The picture is what was left after.


Smeared it all over both pieces and shoved it in the hole. I guess time will tell.


Thought I would just slip this one in. If you were having doubts about the usefulness of a philips screwdriver, this is the best use I have found.
Seals the end nicely!!
