Thanks, Darin

I'll do that Darin when I am finished and have a complete list. That should be sometime later this week.

Don:
As I never got anywhere with Lippert and their bed system, I shall be watching your bed project with great interest. Who knows, I may just have to reno my living/bedroom area when I steal your idea! :D :D

Hope it comes together without too many problems!

Cheers!

Hey Don,
Your gonna like those bearing rollers. I used an identical system that had a little different rail for the sliding pocket door in my trailer. I was amazed at how smooth and quiet it is. The pocket door system came with some nylon guides that mount to the floor and keep the bottom of the door in proper alignment, without having a track across the floor.
I only mention the guides to you as a reference. That is often the type of thing needed with large moving objects that need to be "loose" enough to travel, but not sloppy enough to get in a bind. They are basically a nylon skid bearing that the door moves through without really touching most of the time, unless the door bottom drifts off course to the right or left.
They limit that lateral travel, and prevent binding, and such.

flboy, Howdy

I don't think (?), that you'll experience the problem that McD mentioned as
you'll have all 4 corners anchored with rollers and track whereas a pocket door
has the top in rollers and track and the bottom sorta swinging around like
an old fart wearing boxer shorts. Lookin' forward to seein' the finished item and
a lot of "in the process of" pix too.

Where'd that come from McDave? :-)

I got the struts cut to length and painted. I'll let that paint cure up will and hang them tomorrow and then start on the bed frame. I spent the better part of the day cleaning up the garage. It was a mess and I like to start a job with stuff in its place. I had just dumped all my camping stuff in there when I got home last week.

Re: Fresh Water Tanks

flboy wrote:The fresh water tanks arrived today. I got a great deal on these via Ebay. 66 Gallons total for fresh water so I can boon dock for a while as needed. I have another 35 gallon tank from the donor camper that will go in the bed of the truck if needed when I expect to be out for a long time. These will go on either side over the axles to balance out. I will have a valve to switch between the two going into the on demand pump. Given water is about ~8lbs a gallon, I did not want it all on one side @ 264 lbs each when full.

Do you have a link with the price and dimensions of these? Mine came with a free 42 gallon tank, but it's size is gonna be too awkward to fit how I'd like it to.

I got them on Ebay back in April. They are 33Gal. tanks. I bought them from Seller: classacustoms. At the time, I bought 2 for $74.75 ea. with free shipping.

Description: 33 Gallon Fresh Water Holding Tank for RV Camper Trailer Marine Concession 33-TK
Measurements for Tank: (+/- .25" on each measurement)
36" Longest Length (not including fittings) X 12" X 17 3/4" (rotate the tank to change height or width)

Here is the link, but it says 0 available.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

ClassACustoms ebay store is where I'm buying my tank & pump setup. They have the best pricing I could find. They're currently on vacation which is why they don't have any active items in the store. That 33 gallon tank is still listed on their website so it'll be available once they get back from vacation which is supposed to be 1/16/17.

FYI, their pricing is better on ebay then it is from their website.

The trolleys arrived. May have some difficuly with the srews to hold the struts to the wall. There is not alot of clearance for the trolleys to clear the heads as they roll down the track. Gotta figure that out this morning.

The L-brackets will bolt to the trolleys and hold the bed frame.

BtW.. I decided to build a 2*4 wood frame. With this design, it will be easier and much less expensive to build. Doubling up on the two sides for strength. That is the reason for the wide L-brackets.

These screws have a low head and are designed to hold metal to wood/metal.

Hey Don,
I had that same issue. Had to chamfer out the hole and use counter sunk screws.

flboy, Howdy;

How do you intend to mount the rails to the walls? Where the
metal studs are or just to the plywood itself? I'm betting on the
studs option. So, with that I'd recommend some counter-sunk
(aka flathead), screws. The load is going to be vertical and the
tension should (imo), be supplied by the rollers to the rails. So,
I'd look for a method to have an adjustment in the attaching bracket
for the rollers to the bed frame. Perhaps elongate the holes or
something else you may think of ... as for support for the vertical load
well, a small block of wood or some other sort of decoration or the
E-track ... just some thoughts ...
