Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

OK -- the bed platform, front shelf, TV, A/C and carpet installed. We're using futon mattresses to sleep on, and generally things in our 6x10 are going well.

Now I need to pick up some kind of chair to sit on when getting dressed in the morning, or when laying out on the floor isn't comfortable. It needs to be lightweight and compact when closed, but sturdy enough to handle my bulk.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should look for?

I would just get a couple bag chairs.

When we used the Escape Hatch the first year we were forced to get a couple triangle shaped stools, but they were not very comfortable.

Bag chairs all the way.

Heck, they even have bag recliners. Chell has one of those... really comfortable!!!

I'm still in the planning stages on my CT, but the idea of a chair, or two, has me thinking maybe the folding kind (fold up into a bag). Only set up when you need them, and the bag lets you hang them up on the wall and out of the way. There are some very sturdy ones that are very comfortable. OK my .02

I've got three of those chairs, Mike, and everyone can use them but me. If you got some weight on, like me, you can't get out of them. Normally I would push myself up on the arms, but when they're cloth, forget it. If I hadn't gotten a hand up, I would have had to dump the chair over on its side and crawl out of it. Anyone know the trick, other than dieting?

They pack up nice, though.

Duke I know the trouble. I have one from bass pro that i can get out of. It is not the recliner one but the soft cloth. I am 230 lbs and probably should be only 200 at the most. I started back nto my MMA training just to get rid of the weight so I hope i can get one of the recliner ones next. HAHA.

Since I had the stroke, I find it hard to get out of those 'sling' chairs, so I'm gonna try this one out on my next camping trip. It's padded, and pretty comfy. Plus, it folds and doesn't take up much space.


And best of all, it was only $3.50 at a garage sale.

I agree that the quad chairs are convenient and pack small, but I also find it hard to get out of them, and when open, they would take too much room.

I went to Ikea College Park MD today -- they have a wide variety of styles and types of chairs. I narrowed it down to a folding "Terje" chair similar to FireLion's chair for about $15, or a stool. I went with the $25 "Bosse" birch wood stool. It will fit under the bed platform when not in use, I can use it as a step stool for the side door, and it's VERY strong. most importantly, its very small. As a place to sit while getting dressed it seems perfect for the task.
