The bottom ring on a Manchester tanks is strong enough to hold the tank in place. The ring has several slots cut in it. Many
RV's with single tanks use these slots to bolt the tank in place. I tried to find a picture of this but couldn't. I never liked this setup because the bolts are a pain to tighten and no matter how much you tighten them the tank still moves around slightly but in 15 years of selling campers with this setup I never had a problem. I realize you're not planning on using bolts but it does illustrate that the ring on the bottom of the tank can be used to secure the tank.
