anybody done booth/bench converts to bed?

I am thinking about a booth in the rear of the trailer with a table that "converts" down to a bed...

Then we can use to play cards at night, lower the table down and sleep... bedding will be stored inside/under one of the benches

Make sense????

ALSo, I saw a couple who lowers their rear ramp door down and sets it on jackstands, then has a small table and chairs that they use as a patio...

anybody use tent/canvas material to make a tent off the rear ramp door??? more sleeping area for kids??? dogs??? or just a place to get in if it gets buggy or???

This cargo trailer conversion is making me think of ALL kinds of things... things that make me crazy and my wife mad!!!!

What shape is your "booth" going to be, round or squareish? In either case the design should be similar to most of the front dinettes with a drop down table. Using a lip or cleat around the edge the table could then drop down and be supported. If the table area is to great then add a couple removable legs on the bottom when dropped down. It can be as simple as threaded pipe connector mounts.

I have not built it myself yet, but I do have a project that will have a U shaped booth bed conversion. I have a couple pictures of someone's project that I have been saving for ideas. I will look for it later when at home.

Build a separate round table (perhaps larger), then switch it out, or build a slide out gaucho frame.


Then adapt a gaucho bed frame on one side, insert cushion:

I am thinking two rectangle benches(basically like two big kids toyboxes) with lids that lift uo for bedding storage...

They will be placed on the left wall and one on the rightside of the trailer, running front to back. I am thinking of NOT mounting them down permanently, so they could be moved around when I need to use the trailer for hauling.... plus there will be tow motorcycles in there somewhere!!!

two small pieces in the middle will be used for the table tops...

imagine the resturant type "booths" If the table lowered down and rested even to the seats of the booth, you could lay down on!!

That is how the bed will also serve as a table to eat at, play cards at... PLUS when me an a buddy go fishing or riding motorcycles, I get one bench, he gets the other.... no snuggling with me!!! Both me and my wife like this idea!!!!!
