I recently won this hot water heater on Ebay for 40.00 and after I got it I found out that I needed a travel plug to be able to make it work because it came from Europe and it had a different type plug, but for some reason the travel plug was not working right so I took a leap of faith and cut off the end and put a regular plug on it.
now it works perfect,it heats hot water fine as long as the water is going in slow.
I had to add a water flow tap and as long as the water is going very slow it gets pretty hot if you allow more water to flow through it cools down.
I feel bad because I really complained to the company that the product was defective and did not work so they sent another one and the problem was with the travel plug.
at least now I have hot water I just need to finish the shower stall so I can use it.

Being from Europe, it's meant to operate on 220, that's why the strange plug. Operation on 100V; it will operate at 1/2 power

...and half its designed efficiency (heat output).

Half way down the page is a power chart. Note that operating on 110V, you only get 4.0 kw power rating while it gets 5.5 on 220. Heater elements will power at 1/2 voltage and Most countries use 220 as a standard.

:scratchthinking: Or you could git a NukeUler reactor and just use the hot water it makes for free. :rainy:

Try the Army-Navy surplus store.
