roof vents

Now that I have insulated my whole trailer I keep looking at the roof vent and wonder if it could be a place where I could loose some cool air from my air conditioner, even with it closed tight it's just a thin plastic cover?
I am thinking of making plug with some insulation to cover it in the summer months and when the weather cools off and AC is not going to be used and I open the vent I will take the vent cover off?
on another note I was going to buy a fantastic vent fan with the forward and reverse feature and have the factory install it while the trailer was being built but they talked me into what they put in and that turns out to be a small fan,I am sure it will work fine but I am a little disapointed that they described the vent and fan to be as good as what I wanted and was a small fan?
I guess I should have known better.

I opted for a vent with a smaller fan, mostly due to the cost. I slept in the tear last weekend when it was pretty hot outside, and the breeze I got from the window was perfect.

I've read several threads about people slowing down the fantastic fan, so perhaps in it's natural state, it's overpowered for a tear?

I ran my fan from 10pm til almost 11am the next morning, and my battery lost about 10% of it's juice, I don't think that's too bad.

i can cool my trailer dowm to 70or lower when it is 80 out side with both roof vents open with the vents open it lets out the hot air. When we camp in the cold i use the vents to out hot air and mositure out the vents

I have a heavy piece of card board I put in the bezel for the fantastic fan to let me sleep longer in the a.m., especially in the summer.

A piece of foam would be ok, but the area is so small it is not going to make much difference.

I asked that a Fantastic fan not be installed in our new Mega-Mini. MM#1 had an escape hatch because it had only one door and (too big for an FF) and I made up wood holder that held two 110mm Antec case fans, they are three speed and each on high move 100CFM each. pictures in the album.

I agree. I haven't any problems with my FF and the air conditioning.
