Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

My problem

Postby southpennrailroad » Mon Sep 20, 2010 3:34 am

I have been on my own now for a week and I do a craft show every year on the weekend after Labor day showing the history of the railroad the Penna Trpk purchased. I have to now always make two trips to Somerset from Pittsburgh. One to take my small trailer to the site and the other to take my conversion trailer to sleep in. I came home back down the mountain from Somerset last Sunday and went back up this weekend to get my boxes of show material and visual aids that I use up there. On the way back I was given a call that offered me at least for two and a half months stay for work on a some what of a show farm sixty miles from work. I would then travel back to work with my trailer to sleep in until the next weekend arrives. During my work week in my real job, I stayed in Walmart's parking lot once or twice and probably will do that again during the week to come as needed. Is it a good idea to do this every weekend or not. I look at this as traveling sixty miles every weekend to a camping site every weekend with something to do other then laying in my trailer every weekend. I don't get paid but do have a camping spot. Kind of nice and like boon docking in the mountains I will have access to an outside shower and water and the job is mainly to give tractor rides and help out in improving the facility.

What do you all think?

This dosen't answer your question - but I would get on Craigs List and look for some place where you could stay with your trailer.
Craigs list is a great place to find anything if you just look or ask with a post on there.
I was just about to buy my Honda 2000 generator on Ebay and I thought I would look on Craigs List and a guy had 2 for sale @ 600 each but he had sold the other one the day before, so if I had been looking earlier I could have bought both.
What I like about craigs list is you meet and decide if it is what you want where can't do that on Ebay,I went down and he cranked it up ran perfect I bought a extended run tank and ran it all weekend.
I also bought a great new used outboard motor with 15 hours on it at a great price I could have turned around and sold it and made money if I wanted to sell it, he said I was the 1st to call and he had 10 others behind me that wanted it.
So call if there is a number Email is a gamble.
It has become a habit now and I just go on Craigs List and look at RV,s Boats furniture materials ect it's all there even rentals to share.
I have seen on the RV section places to rent on the lakes or rivers with Elect-water sewer for 150-200 a month I have wondered myself about following up to see if that would be something I might like myself to leave my trailer and boat and use it when I want.
There are alot of people out there on craigs and you should be able find a place where you could stay for a monthly fee or mabe free if you look long enough.
Because you do have a job with some income you have a advantage over someone that dosen't.
The best thing to do is place a post on there asking for what your looking for I think you will be surprised what kind of responce you will get.
