Trailer Layout

I have been reading your posts here guys and I am hoping to jump on the Conversion wagon, except I don’t want to completely modify an entire trailer other than install a window type A.C. that gets removed when not in use( don’t know how to go about with the cutout that can get covered when not needed) & insulate the walls. My problem is a layout to sleep four people two adults and two pre teen kids. I want this mainly for weekend camping at the beach instead of using tents and I am tired of sleeping in my truck. Any ideas on a layout, other than an air mattress covering the entire floor? I am thinking of getting a 6x12 trailer.

Alef, I'd like to discuss that AC thing a little more too ... Thinking of a little metalwork , a framework in the wall (somewhere) capable of holding the AC , and some type of simple locking device to hold the unit in ... Hinged flap on the outside ...

Somewhere I saw a AC mounted on a movable tray on the floor that had a door on the outside of the trailer that it slid through when it was needed and slid in for travel.

Being properly sealed when not in use & look would be my concern also. Looking like it belongs there Is what I am trying to get at.

This ebay store has several RV baggage doors at reasonable prices:

If you make an insert out of plywood that has a hole cut for the dimensions of your AC unit, this could be the solution for your exterior sealing problem when not using the AC.....
