Hello, I am new here but have camped for years, owning everything from a 5wheel to a pup tent. I am now looking at a cargo conversion for the same reason many of you have converted. I have one question? Because my dear wife likes creature conforts, has anyone just used a nice hida-a-bed in a conversion? I think you could have a great place to sit and then sleep. Any feed back as to why or why not? Just asking. I am looking to convert a 7' wide so maybe I might have more room than some.

Are you talking about a couch hide-a-bed? I think it would be sweet but the weight is what would keep me from doing it. Lots of futon use here because they are light and cheap.

Yes, I am talking a big confortable couch like a Flexsteel. If you get the air mattress, it might not weigh so much. Besides, a 7 wide is going to weigh about 3000# empty.

if you are already at 3000# empty I don't see where an extra 200# or so is going to make a great big difference. get what you want so you can be comfortable.

I have a small hide-a-bed in my ham radio room it sleeps like a load of bricks but it sits nice.
But a nice one would make a world of difference.
I plan on using a futon I have if and when I get my trailer.

If I didn't need to have fold up beds I would love to use a futon. Couch and bed all together hard to beat.
