Vynal window for door.

Postby southpennrailroad » Fri Oct 22, 2010 8:55 pm

I work for a window company in Pittsburgh and got an old sash frame and had it cut down to fit into a fixed window hole for the trailer door. The glass will be removed and stowed away when only the fixed screen is used. Will photograph it and post it tomorrow. I am also thinking of getting one as a full length window for the area just to the left of the door standing out side looking at the door but that glass will be fixed. I will add black film for privacy as well as a curtain.

When this is completed, I am actually considering getting a full length vynal screen door made as well. One that I can see out of during the few warm days that winter allows at times.

South Penn,

Good to hear from you! How goes life in the CT now that (I presume) you're out of the former GF's place? Have you found a place to locate your CT or are you having to move around?

The full length window sounds interesting and I would love to see a pic if you have one.

I hope all is well with you.

No still jumping around but liking it. Jump between Lowes, Walmart and weekends in Somerset 45 miles away for three nights. This way have to only switch for 4 nights.

South Penn,

Glad to hear you're doing well, or as well as can be hoped for under the circumstances.

I understand Walmart doesn't mind RV/trailers in the parking lot over night but I was wondering about Lowes. Any flack from them spending the night in their lot? I'm curious because we just returned from a trip to southern Idaho that we had planned but were not sure of camp grounds available to us (we did find one at a boat ramp) so were prepared to spend the night in a Walmart lot but there was a Lowes closer to where we wanted to stay but weren't sure of their policy re: over nighters in an RV... or in our case a CT. Do you know Lowes policy, or in absence of a policy, have you received any flack from them for parking your CT for a night? I suspect because of the low profile of a CT that a night or two wouldn't draw any attention but am not sure (I'm curious because that may be an only option at some point in our future travels).

Thanks,
Don

I did just like Walmart and asked. Had no problem and I do this without asking now by just showing up when it gets dark. Also as far away from the building as possible. So I suspect you staying just one night would be feasible. For me it could eventually be a problem as I do it about twice a week making sure I stick to this policy. I do keep very low profile. I still stick to just staying in one lane. My small awning is out and gen running but it to is a honda. It is locked to my open side door. No problems. I do see an occasional roaming police car but they don't bother me.

South Penn,

Did you ever get these installed? I was looking at this as an option particularly in my door, but I really didn't know how it would handle traveling down the road.
