Any in info would be helpful. I'm considering this unit for my 6X12 CT Conversion.

...those units used to be sold under the name "PetCool"...they are nice units, if a bit pricey...they are designed for a dog houses with a volume of 100-150 cubic feet...in discussions here, they work pretty well for Td's...not so well for anything larger and may not cool enough on a warm day for the volume in a cargo trailer..............

My experience with MM #1 with 400 cubic feet is that the Pet Cool could not keep up on a 80 degree day. MM #7 will have an adapted 5000BTU window unit at $50 close out end of season.

IMO, the larger unit may be a better fit for larger trailers/teardrops and possibly for smaller trailers in very hot climates.

At $579 for the 7000BTU I can buy a bunch of window units and pay to have them modified. I did notice that the compressor is a Toshiba and I do like the design.

I think I'm going to opt for the small window unit; $89 on clearance at the local Target. I figure I can cut a hole at the front of the trailer above my counter top and install a sliding rail, so I can pull it in when travelling and put a drop lid on the front and when parked, slide it out and plug it in.

I have portable A/Cs with heaters for both of my trailers. I haven't tried the heat part of either of them yet but the A/C part of both of them works well.

I own the 7,000 btu unit from Cliamte air and it works very nice for my CT it does up to 1200 square feet and it is quiet I think 56DB and the only drawback the control box is mounted on the unit. So the unit sits outside so that would be my only drawback. But this will do much better job then a window a/c or a portable one. Trust me yes it might be expensive over a window unit one. But this will cool or heat your CT in matter of Secs and not hours and it also has two hoses one brings in the air and one takes the air out so it circulates. And why would you want a window A/c mounted to your Ct while driving down the road. That to me is kinda mobile home style. With the device I have I have hoses I replaced with brand new sewer hoses that are black and then I have the twist on and off fittings so when I set up I just twist hose on and twist off when I am ready to pack up. I went camping when it was 32 degrees out and I turn this on and it is warm all night long and with a window A/C you hear that all night long because it will be half in and half out of Ct. IF you get a long black hoses you can put on table away from the CT and while outside you wont hear it at all. It comes with wheels so you can move it around.

Ya you can buy a cheap one for $50.00 or $90.00 but just think of this it will look werd always attached to the CT and if the unit ever breaks you need to buy the same size and what if they change the specs on it you have this hole on the outside of your CT. Why not just go the easier way and pay more for something that is better built and will outlast a window one. And it will heat it and also A/c it.
