Hello everyone, I just towed home my new-to-me 6x10 Pace cargo trailer. I had wanted something small, and definitely lower when I first thought of this, but I am doing a conversion so I can take my daughter camping with me. She is in a wheelchair and when I got into a 5x10 with a 4.5 foot ht I did not think I could get her in and out of her chair if I could not stand up. So I was able to find an almost new, in lovely shape Pace. It has a 5ft 6in headroom and is about 83 inches high, But, I watched my mileage drop about 3 miles per gallon even after I slowed to about 50 mph. However, the whole idea of building something yourself is to make it your own, make it work for you, I will be starting in about a week, will post pictures and ask many questions. This forum is really been helpful so far, can't wait to get started. Jessy

Wow great dad I'll bet she can't wait to go camping.

I use a mobility scooter I can walk just not very far.

I carry the scooter in the back of my truck which works fine but if I want to stop and see anything it means unhooking the trailer moving the truck unload/load the scooter and rehooking the trailer not fun.

If and when I get CT drop the ramp unload/load raise the ramp and be off much more useful.

good luck on your build and pictures, pictures, pictures.

pete

Well, I have started my trailer. I got the walls insulated and built a permanent bed in the front. I like to have a bed that does not have to be taken down and put up. Chris's bunk will fold up so I will have a large area in the front for whatever. I stained the walls and will order 1, maybe 2 roof vents. I am really getting into this, just not sure how I will rig a ramp.
