is it ok to keep your battery inside
when you put your battery in a tongue box how do you run the wires inside
i have diamond plate on the front of my trailer and i don't think i will get a good seal if i try to run the wires through it

I had my batteries in the trailer and I had to haul them in and out to charge them it was such a pain I bought a lockable tool box off Ebay and I drilled holes in the bottom and ran the wires under the trailer then into the trailer.

To keep the battery inside it must either be in a vented to the exterior box with the vent at the top (hydrogen rises) or you must use an AGM battery which is recombinant and out gases a very small amount. Or you can be going down and underneath connecting with your junction box.
Do a search on water tight cable gland and you will find many possibilities.

Mount it on the tongue and just run the wires under and up through the floor.. Some silicone around the hole will seal it right up.. No reason to run the wires through the front rock guard..

I adapted a toolbox from Tractor Supply for a tongue mounted box that holds my battery.

I did not want to just loop the wires under the bottom edge of the rock guard/front wall as it would be too easy for something to flop up and pinch the wires. I opted to use strain relief connectors and drilled through the box and lower part of trailer's rock guard/front wall ( under the floor ). The wires then go up through the floor and are sealed with silicone.

thanks for the help i will go with tongue box and go through the floor
