Would this work???

Postby lonerider » Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:51 pm

I have seen alot of builds here with rounded roofs and it seems that everyone stops the side walls where the roof supports start to curve. Why couldn't you go straight up as far as you can with the walls buy cutting a slot for the supports and then go straight across with the roof?

OK, tell me why that won't work or why it will work!!!

Most people insulate the walls and ceiling.. So you need that gap between the interior and exterior for insulation.. If you cut the walls out for the ceiling studs and ran them up farther you wouldn't be able to insulate there.. Its also easier to just trim the corners..

I think that using 1" foam board there wouldn't be much not insulated. The studs are that thick and where the side wall and the top would meet wouldn't be very much.
