Fold Down Bed

Postby TxGent » Sat Apr 23, 2011 11:21 pm

Hi All,

I started renovating a motorcycle cargo trailer 6 x 12 V nose, to haul my goldwing and allow us a place to camp in also.

I've insulated and just installed paneling into it today, and stumbled across this site when searching for the following information.

I'm looking to create a fold down bed. One that will drop down from the sidewall of the trailer. I could have sworn I came across a thread describing how to create one here, but since i didn't bookmark it, can't seem to find it now

Anyone have any ideas or details on how to build one of these? I need it to be large enough for two people.

Thanks for any help!!

btw, great site here!!!!!

One such fold down bed can be found under Jwhite's post "toyhauler update" on down this page.

I made this bed frame out of 2X2 and 1/8" plywood, just folds up against the wall. It holds a Queen size air mattress.

Murphey Bed Ideas

I used PVC tubing with the furniture non skid foot pads to keep it sound. My camper has a hidden dove tail so I just made one longer to accommodate this.

No that it's finished you cant even tell it's there when up. I can fit my race or street bike in there just fine.
