simple 12v question

First off, forgive me if I am over thinking this. I use to wire car stereos as a hobby so this should come pretty easy to me, but for reason I keep second guessing myself.

Here is my debate: Can I mount a deep cycle on the tongue on my CT, run the pos. lead to a fuse block, the neg. lead to the steel frame, and then run a wire to each of my 12v devices from the fuse block and ground them to the frame to complete the circuit? Or do I need to run the neg. lead from each device all the way back to the battery (or at least to a ground bus-bar attached to the neg. battery terminal)?

Thanks for the help, I know there is an electrical section, but I figured this question was CT specific because of the steal frame.

It will work either way. It's less likely to fail if you run a negative lead back to the battery, because there's a better chance of galvanic corrosion if you tie to the steel frame. Don't forget your fuses :)
