Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey everyone I'm a noob here.
I found your site some time ago and used some things I found here to build mine.

Heres a few pictures. I bought almost everything from Craigslist and people parting out trailers. The awning I bought as a 16 foot and cut it down. I had a boat canvas shop do the stiching and I cut the tube down. It was very easy.

The rest is pretty straight forward just have a look at the photos in my Album

Very nice design and execution. Do you carry a ATV or something in there while traveling? I like the diamond plate backsplash.

Yep I carry dirt bikes as well as Roadrace bikes. I can get 3 dirt bikes or 2 roadrace bike in it.
I mostly camp in the woods so showers outside aren't a problem.
When the wife goes with she likes the state campgrounds and most of those have showers.

The Diamond plate was on the floor in the front of the trailer when I got it.
My wife suggested using it as a back splash.

What did you use to run from your LP tank to your water heater, soft rolled copper?

I'm trying to decide how to get the LP from the front of my trailer tongue inside to my furnace, it will be about 7-8 feet.
I could buy a factory rubber LP hose, but it's over $50. ouch. !

Black pipe and copper pipe is what most trailers use.

I used Black iron pipe under the trailer and over to the quick connect.
There is a rubber hose from the tank/regulator to the Black pipe. Then soft copper from a T in the black pipe into the trailer (you can see it coming up thru the floor in one of the pics) and to the WH and cooktop.
Its really easy to work with but you'll have to buy a 20 dollar flare tool for flaring the ends of the copper. Also you need to be careful of the rubber or copper rubbing on anything. I would not use copper under the trailer for fear of it getting damaged by a rock or something.

Barely. Its idea for one. If I camp mostly by myself while dirt riding and roadracing.

I bought mine from a damaged toy hauler that the dude was parting out.
I paid a hundred bucks. At that price I feel I got a good bed.

I would be pissed off if I paid the kind of money they want for these from some of the sites online. like 5 or 600 with shipping.

While the frame is made well from 1 inch square steel tubing. The foam and cover are acceptable. The problem is the support between the frame. They used plastic/nylon strapping to support the foam. The kind of stuff you use for strapping stuff while shipping it. This stuff is garbage for this use. It stretches and allows your ass to sink in between the straps. Think fold out couch bed with metal bars, but MUCH worse.

I have installed 1/4 plywood under the foam and on top of the frame/straps. not a tough or expensive fix. But one that should not have to be done considering the price you would have to pay should you order it new. Have not slept on it since this mod. But it feels loads better.
I'll take a couple of pictures of it soon for you.

Thanks for the info. I will make a fold down bed with a full mattress. The mattress I have already. Wood and hinges $40. Much cheaper and comfortable for two people. I have enough room for a 5 foot couch so no need to make a complicated couch/bed.

Very Nice. I have a 6 x 14 I've been thinking of converting and seeing yours has convinced me!
