Do trailers need side venting? Is Fantastic fan that much better than regular vent fan?

I have windows on the sides and two vents on the roof........just crank up, no power. My last trailer was set up this way and I don't need anything more.

If you mean side windows and you lived in Texas, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana or Ohio in the summer then yes and yes.
I would want sidewindows and vents a fantastic fan is a lot better than the small fans that come in roof vents.
that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Cargo trailers on lots have side vents, one high on 1 side,1low opposite side. What is reason for this? Think it would affect drag and let dirt/dust into trailer.

They call those "gas vents". The top one is facing forward - lets air in. The bottom one lets air out. Keeps gas fumes from settling in the trailer - flushes the fumes out.

I agree:
Those vent are for venting gasoline fumes out when you use the trailer as a toy hauler and have vehicles with gas tanks, plus possible extra gas storage inside the trailer on a 100 degree day.

The vents keep the trailer free of fumes that could ignite when you turned on the lights or something....
