For those in the colder regions like myself..what is the general consensus on covering your trailer with a tarp to protect it from snow and rain? Could this potentially cause more problems by locking in the moisture and not letting it escape? I figure it would be easier to just pull the tarp off the top taking the snow along with it instead of getting a ladder and shovel...do i need to build some kind of framework so that the tarp is not in direct contacf wih the roof of the trailer?

This is my set up:

It gives me peace of mind and I can unzip the side door and check the interior.

I would be interested in seeing if Barb's setup allows the tarp to rub against the trailer.
I ask because I was told not to cover my popup and since it was kept in the garage there wasn't a need but I did used an old blanket to keep the birds and dust off the top.
she lives in the northern part of the state I live in the southern part not very much difference in wind they may get more snow.

I bought an inexpensive car cover from Wally World, around 30 bucks. I trimmed it up a bit, and sewed it so it fits better. 2nd winter in process, it breaths and keeps it dry.

Pete brings up a good point.
I made sure the corners of the roof line had a piece of the blue foam camping mat from Walmart inbetween the the roof line and the main cover. Anything sharp would rub through a cover. Almost all companies suggest making sure there is nothing sharp resting against your cover material.
The two rear bottom corners have the same blue foam because those edges are sharp. I also added some grey pipe insulation around the fender edges.
