I bought a compact refrigerator for my conversion. I moved it to the trailer and the compressor made a knocking sound. If u bump the compressor it makes a knocking sound.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Johnnie

If you bump them they will knock, but shouldn't be knocking when running, except if bumped

I just want to say that I also bought a compact fridge and I am very glad I bought one.
I run it for a day or two and when I am traveling and it's turned off it keeps cold for hours,I have some freezer packs I put in the freezer part and when I run the generator it freezes the cold pack and helps to keep it cold when it's off.
I really got tired of buying ice and it lasts a couple days,I just bought this thing called a slimline container yesterday at walmart it holds over a gallon of water that is made to freeze water and it has a tap/spout and has a handle to carry it.

Only knocks when bumped. Those refrigerators where most likely made to sit and not drive up and down road. How do they hold up in the trailer invorment

I think the "KNOCKS" you hear when the refrigerator is "bumped" is the compressor
which sits on springs or some kind of shock material hitting into the stops.

I have a dorm fridge that has been coast to coast and border to border it to "KNOCKS" when bumped.
it is 20 years old works well much better than some absorption trailer types not all just some.
