So I spent this past weekend pulling a 5x10 U-Haul trailer from northeast of Dallas to Lubbock and back. We had to take some stuff to our daughter and then move her from one apartment in Lubbock to another. It pulled very nicely. The only time I really noticed it was there was when I was going uphill and when I had to fill the tank. On the way to Lubbock it is a gradual increase in elevation and the wind was between 20mph and 40mph. I normally get around 18.5 to 19 mpg. On the way to Lubbock I got between 13.75 and 15.25 mpg. The trailer had electric hydraulic brakes and was easy to stop.
One of my dogs (Brady) rode with me.
On the return trip I got 16 to 17 mpg. The wind and elevation were more in my favor this time.
