Removable Tiny House on 5x10 Trailer?

Hello All,
Glad I found this site!! I live in south texas, have two small boys who love to be outdoors. We camp, canoe, kayak and visit state parks regularly. Our camping has been limited to spring and fall due the heat and the oldest having asthma(sleeping in a clean, conditioned environment helps). We would like to make some summer trips and be in the A/C when we sleep. I have been wanting an rv, but like most of us, it simply is not in the budget. I have been thinking about trying to make something myself for sometime and was very excited to find this forum. My idea is probably kind of crazy, but here goes. I have a 5x10 open cargo trailer with a ramp and 18" high sides. I would like to bulid a camper on skids with rollers that I can move on and off the trailer. I thought about just framing a simple box, but I really like the look of the tiny houses and vardo campers I have seen. Once I built over the trailer walls, I could extend out a foot or so on each side (kind of like a slide in truck bed camper) for more space. I'm thinking a typical (very small) tiny house, with a loft queen or full, a full downstairs across the front, then small kitchenette near the rear. I know the tiny houses are not as aerodynamic, but we would not be going cross country, as we have a bunch of state parks and campgrounds near home. I don't have any sketches yet, just brainstorming. Looking for some help and suggestions from all you pro's out there.
Thanks!!
