Did you mean a bed in the side that folds out like a tent trailer:

That was the only company I found when looking for that option. I went with just a plain trailer, though.

No sorry might have misrepresented what I was looking for somewhere on this site someone gave a utube address of a person or company that makes campers and this bed dropped down from the top of the enclosed trailer

I have seen toy-haulers that had a couple different drop-down bed designs
one they used electric screwjacks to raise and lower the bed it only goes down so far not to the floor
the other one used metal arms that allowed the bed to swing up or down
it swung forward and up locking into brackets
when down it swung down and back resting on wall mounted supports.
the swinging type requires a lot of room and it still was high off the floor.
I seem to remember a home built one using a series of ropes and pullies
kinda like the ones used in a garage to hoist a bicycle up for storage.

you might see what you are looking for at about the four minute mark in this video... the bed is on cables/pulleys and hand cranked down from the ceiling to rest on a couple of low side cabinets.

I may only have 8 posts but i've been devouring this website and saw that the other day : )

I got really excited watching that video until I saw the prices on those trailers!!! Some nice ideas though to incorporate into your DIY cargo trailer conversion.

Becky... i agree with you about there being some nice ideas to incorporate into a CTC. The old school approach was refreshing. I didn't even go to the $$ page ; ) as i'm so hung up on not buying any one's idea of an RV for this next project.

Cheers,
Thom
