Bicycle Rack?

I'd like a bicycle rack that I could hang from the
back of my 7x12 CT. I guess it would hang over the double
doors at the rear of the trailer. I know the doors would be blocked
when the rack is in place.

Thanks for any ideas.

We've got one of these, and they're seriously macho. Well built, and fit a 2" Receiver. You could have a Receiver welded on, and have the option of putting other Accessories back there.

When swung to the right and out of the way, my SUV Hatch can go up and let the Pooch out. There's a large Pin included that locks the Arm in the open position. This is very handy in Wind, or on a Slope. It also keeps the Bikes from banging into the Vehicle or CT side.

Not cheap, but good things aren't. Your Rear Door would not be blocked. Note that the CT Door would swing around above the Bike Rack Arm.

Thanks Engineer Guy.
I've been wrestling with how to put a receiver hitch on.
I think that's the way to go. Just have to bite the bullet
for the hitch and weilding cost. Like you say, it leaves a
person more options. By the way. I like your picture.
You look like my kind of guy. HaHaaa!

The nice thing about Receivers is that you can really let your imagination run with them.

I have a drop down Hitch Insert w/Ball. I flip it over in my SUV Receiver and bungee on a lil piece of scrap OSB that serves as a mini Table, or very stable Cook Stove surface. I always thought a couple of Receivers off the side of a CT or TTT would be a good basis for holding Awning Poles. Another idea I had was to make a semi-circle out of Electrical Conduit. Hold it up on a Pole and have the Pole slip into a lil custom piece that mounts in the Receiver. With a Shower Curtain on, you've got a stable, discrete area for an Outdoor Shower if you also hold the top in place while showering. And, so on...

I saw one fellow describe how he had the square Receiver oriented to be on top of the Receiver Bracket than ran between the two Trailer Frame Beams. This prevented rear end dragging, if that concerns you...

Next time you're around Rifle, note this Business linked below. Another such Business is >1 mile East of the Rifle Exit on the South side of I-70 past the 'Sonic' Burger Joint. I've not done Business with either one, but both sell CTs. I doubt you'd be the first Gent picking their Brains. Obviously, there's also plenty of hands-on Folks in Glenwood.

Thanks EG for all the input. One reason I've put off the receiver hitch on the back, is that dragging problem.
Haven't drug the tail yet with this new trailer, but my last one I did regularly. I think I'll see if I can get one attached.
Probably check in Grand Junction. Those guys in Rifle ars pretty proud of themseles and their work.
I go to Rifle to look...and then buy somewhere else.
Nice score on the wife....you must be an alright guy too...if she keeps you around. or wealthy? HaHa
Personally I'm rich ...not wealthy.

Do lots of research . Most bicycle rack mfgrs DO NOT sell and/ or warrant a rack for the back of a trailer. Vehicles only! Dragging is one problem...weight balance is another, so on. I am building my 20th camper and have wanted a rack capability on most. But...the dealers drop the subject like a rock once you tell them it for a trailer. Even if you tell them it is for a vehicle, they will not offer any warranty if they find out it was installed on a trailer. Got this info from several dealers and with a couple of mfgrs as well.

Thanks prohandyman.
I wouldn't expect a warranty to cover my mistakes on this type of thing.
I know the risk and I don't have expensive bikes. Clunky old Mtn bikes
that nobody would even steal. My 7x12 trailer wouldn't even know any thing was back there
as far as balance is concerned. Oh and I already have a bike rack...just need the receiver hitch.
Thanks again
Randy
