dustboy and aggie79, thanks for the support ...
with the larger ticket items I attempt to keep
the learning curve closer to 90* than 30* ...
makes me back-up and look at the item more
than once. Kinda like the measure 3 or 5 times

Howdy All;

Truck is packed, heading out in the morning, hope to get to Green River, Utah or
somewhere West of there, then on to Murry, Ut. Friday. Pick up the trailer on Sat.
Then up to West Yellowstone for a week of fishin' and head scratching to see what
might end up where. I may not be on here for a week or 2 ...

Have a great trip! I'll be worried if we DO hear from you, because it means you're not off the grid enjoying the wilderness!

Howdy All;

Started out about 8:30am, Refueled at Grants, N.M then in Green River, Ut.,
Rolled in to Nephi, Ut. about 11:00 pm.831.8 miles and 3 stops for Rascal to
stretch and fetch, water a bush, usual K-9 stuff.
This morning I got the cashier's check for the balance owed, called and went
and gave it the once or twice over, Rascal appreciates the shade it provides.
Photos will be coming at a later time, when I can figure the system for this forum ...
Don't have to be in Mt. till Monday, so I may back-track Saturday, after I pick it up
so I can grab some "stuff" from my storage lock-up that may/or not come in handy.

Great hearing all is going well and you have picked up the trailer! Sorry for the delay ic commenting, but trying to get all moved from AZ to Minn has been a grueling adventure, to say the least :shock: :shock:
The move is over and ended up with 6 U-Haul U-Boxes and about 3000 - 3500#'s in the Az desert Rat ... it was probably overloaded to say the least :FNP
Now ... Unpack and find someplace to put it all!

Keep the posts coming in Hank and shoot a few flicks for us :pictures:

CT is looking good.

The water looks pretty clear. You must be camped somewhere below the dam? Hope fishing is going good too!

Hank, I've got this nagging itch to upgrade my TV to a crew cab Superduty, how's the towing with that new trailer, and if it's a Powerstroke, how's the towing MPGs?

When I work in San Francisco, a bigger truck is the last thing I want, but a little MOAR POWURR up the big hills would be nice sometimes.

Mine is a 2004 Supercab with the 6.0L powerstroke. All trucks have their good and bad points, the 6.0L has some KNOWN problems, which I'm-a-fixin'-to
correct next month. Get on some of the forums and do your research and you should be able to find a good truck out there. All vehicles have their +'s & -'s.
Even the same truck with different engines will have different characteristics and fault patterns.

On the trip to Utah to get the CT, I did have one instance where I got 21 mpg. That was a first and only so far. Usually it avg's. about 17-18 mpg on it's own
and that's just local stuff.
On the way home (towing), I was getting about 13.5 mpg as an avg.. That was a lot of ups -n- downs along I-70 from Salina, Ut. to just east of Green River
and then South to Moab.

I'm real happy with the way it does it's job (for ME),

Howdy All;

A bit more information on my new CT, It's an Interstate Pro version. Had them leave off the vents and the extra
trim pieces that normally extend along the lower edges and go to the white wheels instead of the chrome ones.
I had them upgrade the axle to a 5600# with the auto adjust brakes (both forward and back-up), which also
meant that I ended up with the 2 5/8" hitch and the seven-way plug. Went with the spring axles instead of the
torsion set-up in case I find it feasible to flip them for greater ground clearance. 2 top vents and 2 interior lights
(12 vdc).
Did my first mod to it shortly after our arrival at the Campground, had to make a hole for the Marinco 15 amp ac
connection. Had to have a way to get my oxygen generator working and have some heat, it was in the 40's and
drizzling rain. Used an oil filled electric heater and just had a 5'X7' area rug on the floor and even with the temps
hitting freezing a few nights while I was there Rascal and I were snug and warm in the trailer during the nights.
Worst part was after the rain quit drizzling, the dripping from the spruce tree above us sounded like Maggie O'Sullivan's
4 year old Hobbits tap dance class was in full session with all 48 young Hobbits completely out of sync. and with zero rhythm.

Howdy All;

Time to drag this thread back into the "In Use" section.
Tax refund should show-up in the week next so I went and pulled the
siding off the driver's side wall to give it a check and look-see. I'll get
some pix up tomorrow.
Had an interesting conversation with Gonefishin and from what I experienced
in Montana last June (go back a page ?), night time temps in the 30's and daytime
temps generally in the 50's to mid 60's. With zero insulation and an oil filled elect.
heater Rascal and I were able to dwell comfortably, Gonefishin's trailer came insulated
from the manufacturer with insulation, the Mylar covered bubble-wrap stuff and with his
heating system remains comfortable.
Add to that the query from Rainier70 about the bottom of the exterior walls being 'open'
as well as the exterior wall sections not being 'sealed' being done for ventilation so I'm
willing to do an experiment with mine to see if, perhaps, we may be over thinking this whole
insulation thing.
Y'all will definitely be kept in the loop.
Oops, better put the camera battery on the charger...
