Cargo Trailer Update

Update to show what I did to my Cargo Trailer.
Size of trailer is a 7' x 16' and has the V Nose, it is 6' 6" height inside.
Had cargo trailer a couple years but decided I needed to convert it.
Can still use it for some hauling.
First thing was to install RV AC Unit.
105980

On to the insulation
105981

Also wired it like a RV with outside, 30 Amp service, with RV electrical panel.
Built counter for 32" LCD TV, Microwave, Refrigerator, with outside HD Satelite Reciever, Cable, Antenna, Hookups.
Chair was only for resting that day, does not stay in trailer. Has Futon for sitting and also makes bed.
105982

Found Windows and began installing them a few weeks ago.
Inside View ( Trim was then painted black to match interior.)
105983

Outside View
105984

I had already Designed Decal for Ramp Door, after installing the AC unit.
105988

Designed the Decals for side last week, and had them made and installed, here it is hooked up to my truck.
(Someone kept complaining it looked to plain on sides)
105986

Reason for Conversion, I missed my Bike when we traveled & pulled our Fifth Wheel Camper
(Normally has only a solo seat) Our first time camping and road Bike to Nashville.
105987

We have now camped in the Cargo Trailer, twice at end of last summer, in TN.,
I also made a trip to Fl, but that was before the windows and side decals.
So I think I am about finished, and ready to start camping for this summer.
I don't really want to go much further with the conversion.
Hope something I did will help someone else to convert.

Very nice looking build. What did you use for your wall and ceiling panels? Also the ceiling corner trim? Thanks!

Sorry haven't been much on computer or this page. Wife was browsing web, and saw your replies.
Thanks, think I could have made it nicer but I just wanted to try this out first.
Already had the leftover wood, and it was easy to build the cabinet across the front.
May get a Toy Hauler later, but this serves its purpose and it is cheap on diesel fuel to pull it.
Actually it doesn't hardly even have a noticeable effect on my fuel mileage. (Pulling it with a 2012 Ford F250, 6.7 Diesel)
I purchased 4x8 wall paneling and 4x8 white panel for ceiling from Lowes. The ceiling trim that is a 3/4" x 5" board painted black.
I just mitered the edges on my table saw. So it fit tight against wall and ceiling . Attached it with screws, so it is very sturdy.
Also I have white RV type screws & plastic rosets in 1/4 " X 1 1/2" thick wood trim (Painted white), going across the ceiling panels where they join.
Then I stapled the white trim bought from Lowes, on the wall.
Hope that helped anyone that was interested in knowing how I attached the ceiling.

Thank you very much for the details on your build. It helps a lot.

Your mitered 1 x 5 came out looking very nice. I like the lights on it too.

The lights mounted there is thought provoking. Hmmm...... I will be rewiring soon. Thanks for sharing.

For the floor, I used garage floor paint, then decided to cover it with Outdoor Carpet, again from Lowes.
The ramp door, I used garage floor paint and added sand in it for traction.
Have two small removable rubber plugs in floor for 3/8 holes that hold my Motorcycle chock.
I welded the nuts to metal tubing under the trailer, so I drop in bolts with flat & lock washer to tighten and mount my Motorcycle chock.
That way it only takes a couple minutes to install or remove anytime I want too.

I mounted two electric switches in the cabinet, one for the 110 lights and the other for the 12 volt lights on the black ceiling boards.
That way when I open the side door, I can reach in and turn on the lights inside.

I will prob put my lights there too and use 1x6 as you did. Much better than my idea. I'm putting switches by the door. One for 1 interior light, 1 for Rt side porch light, 1 for front & Lt side porch lights. I will have 1 exterior semi-hidden switch for the exterior work lights over the ramp. I got in a situation last year where I had to back at night with minimal lighting. So I'm solving that problem.
