Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Purchased a used converter some time ago. Seems like a pretty simple hook up. Easy to see where the 110v is connected. Has a ground strip - no problem. Out of the back it has three wires two white and one red. I hook the two white up to lights and fan (12v) and they work fine. I was thinking the red wire would go to the battery for 12v power when not "plugged in". Does that seem correct? Any and all help is appreciated. BTW the converter is not longer made and it did not come with any instructions. Thanks!

Red should go to your 12 volt fuse panel. The whites should 12 volt and/or 110 volt grounds. Is there a terminal lug all by itself?...definitely need some pics to be more helpful. Seems odd that you would have power using both whites

It is pretty cumbersome...I'll try to help. First in the upper area just below the blue banner and to the left you should see in small letters 'User Control Panel'. click on it then you will see several blue tabs. Go to 'Galley' on the right end. Next go to 'Manage Personal Albums' on the left...then in the middle click on 'Upload Image'.

Thanks Quadriderdad I think I got it. I've tried to post a front and back pic of the converter. On the back you can see a ground block, and the three wires (2 white and 1 red) the 2 white are controlling the 12v lights and the roof vent fan. Not sure what the red is for.

Sorry the 3 wires in question are 2 blue and 1 red. Blue control lights and fan. Don't know what the red is for. Thanks for any help.

I would be willing to guess that the red is for the battery circuit.

Who is the manufacturer on the label?

Sorry for the eye strain. Best I could do. The mfg. is Carson and they no longer are in the business. When I first got it I tried to get a manual, but no luck. If the Red wire goes to the battery, does it charge the battery when I'm hooked up to "shore power" and then does it supply 12v power to the trailer when I'm not on "Shore Power"? Thanks all!

I would assume so, that's the way other converters work, but since we know nothing about this particular converter, your guess is as good as mine.

Hooking it up and measuring some voltages would be my next step.
