7 X 12 V nose new conversion

Hello I'm a new member from Cairo, Georgia and plan to convert a 7x12 vnose Diamond cargo trailer to a modular dual purpose trailer.
First let me say that we had a 16' 93 Casita camper and a 5x8x5 2000 Wells cargo trailer and we didn't use either of them very much. The casita had gotten down to once per year. So we decided to sell both of them and order a new cargo trailer and modify it our self.
We ordered it with electric brakes and an rv door and got it for $2495 out the door.
Our plans are to permanently install a wet bath and hot water heater,lights/receptacles and nothing else.Varnish the walls, install at least 3 windows, insulate the ceiling, paint the floors and put down an area rug, and decorate it like cracker barrel does.
We plan to leave it in the camper configuration but be able to unload it in 15-30 minutes any time we need to carry cargo.
As a wise man once said " we'll see"
Richard
P.S. We plan on mounting an a/c window unit over the fender on the drivers side.

This is a very small world! Are you by chance the bird carver that lives on the east side of town? We might be neighbors.

I live on 24th st, around the corner from your dad. I'd like to get together with you some time and look at your cargo trailer and pick your brain. I'll try to send a message later.
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
Nothing wrong with your plan at all! There is more than one that have done that. They have real nice converted CTs and in a matter of a short time its back to an empty CT ready to haul. Go for it!!!! Looking forward to your build.

Earnest

As promised here are some pictures of my build.
I have learned a lot these past few months and one was I should have started with a well thought out plan put on paper. I've made several mistakes. I didn't know my limitations. There is a lot about the trailer that's not square and I wasn't prepared to deal with it. Not finished yet but getting closer. Will post more photo's when thru.

One last photo shows the windows we used. They were cheap but will serve the purpose. Put 2 on each side.

I got them on ebay. They were $25 each including shipping. They are not made for rv's but have aluminum frames and safty glass and screens on the bottom half. 21" x 14" inside measurments.

How is the diamond cargo trailer holding up? I just ordered mine, I plan on using a house style window as well, any problems with them yet? Nice build btw.

The trailer is holding up well as are the windows. We went to the mountains, in Nov. to camp with a group of fiberglass campers that we have camped with for years. We used to own a 16' Casita. I was concerned they wouldn't like it but my concerns were soon put to rest. They really seemed to like it and made several positive comments.

Somehow I missed your beautiful CT conversion. Please tell us more about...bed size, bathroom, etc.!

Take care, Tom
