One more - how well their trailer insulation works !!
But you can get a junk 7 x 16 NEW for $3,500 or quality trailer for $7,000
& you can even convince yourself that the $3,500 one is better........
Sooner or later you may even find one almost free somewhere
& If you spend $5,000 in effort it may even be TOTALLY FREE !!
PS EDDIE
Don't plan on living in the cheap one in PA winter time - especially if it has a metal frame...![]()
I hear it gets really ice cold over there in PA winters.
PS2. If you gonna live in PA in the winter then I would say smaller is always way better ,
because it takes less insulation in a smaller space,
requires less heat to keep warm, less cooling to keep cool etc.
a lower trailer also requires less gas while towing.

For your intended purpose it sounds like you would be much better off buying a nice used TT for less than half the cost of what even a cheap converted cargo trailer is going to cost you to build I see decent 30+ foot TT's on Craigslist everyday for $3-5K that will be much more comfortable to live in.

Water tanks, water heater, heat, A/c, electrical, Tv, Stereo, microwave, toilet, wall covering, ceiling covering, lighting, awning, power converter, inverter, batteries, and on and on. This is just scratching the surface of what is needed to be ( comfortable liveable). It adds up very fast and I bought many of my RV components for pennies on the dollar off EBay when many RV manufacturers went tits up in 2007-2008 due to the economy.

Mine has zero windows - I can park in your driveway , nobody knows !!
PS if your in PA I would ask dealers to look for a old wood frame CarMate trailer
Much easier to insulate - just leave the old plywood walls up & put in 2" foam - then another 3/8 plywood.
On the floor use Dow Blue board - then plywood.
Don't worry about the height & bending over -95% your gonna be laying or sitting down.
Less space = less heat![]()
ALSO - the chance you find a 6 .5 trailer is almost ZIP - as 95% are shorter- generally only contractor
Trailers are taller like 6.5 to 7.5 and they won't sell theirs - unless going broke, it's the last thing to go
As they might wanna live in it too !!
