Closed Cell Insulation

I have a new 7 x 16 Covered Wagon Cargo Trailer. I originally purchased it to haul around a couple of large motorcycles. Now I'm wanting to get some more use out of my investment. I use an insulation company at work and they offered to spray it with closed cell insulation. The R Value runs about R6 per inch. I did a search and came up empty, but I think this might be the way to go.

What are your thoughts? Anybody had success with this?

I had my all aluminum featherlite sprayed and wowzers it's made a huge difference

Closed spray insulation is great insulation! The only difficult thing about spraying it between the wall ribs is that closed cell dries hard. If the applicator sprays in enough to fill the bays to get max R-value you will have a task in smoothing the surface. The open cell is soft and easy to shave. That's my only concern about the closed cell.

I can't say from experience, but from opinions posted on here, the sprayed insulation bonds to the outer skin, and then when it tries to expand and contract with temperature change it wrinkles. (oil cans)

After a year and a half with temperatures from -40c to +40c mine hasn't wrinkled

Featherlite does put on a thicker aluminum sheet for their skins tho...

Perhaps a thinner skin would wrinkle

Until I can actually see photographic proof of some sort of damage / issue I am skeptical of any claims against foam.

I wish all those wrinkle doom & gloomers would finally post at least 1 picture of the interior & exterior.

After all lots of commercial trucks are insulated with thick foam to keep those reefers cool.
