I have a 6x10 with a BriskAir that I am trying to run with my EU2000 until I get a second companion unit later this year. Attached are the photos of the electrical section, can anyone tell me which is the cap and if the standard supco spp6 will work. Thanks guys/gals

wouldn't we need to know how many watts yourBriskAir uses ....if its more then 600-700 watts running
I would guess your honda 2000 may not wanna start it

The EU2000 runs it fine just has a hard time restarting it and I figured I could try an hard start cap and I'll have two by the end of year anyway. What I am more asking is about which one of these is the cap that needs to be replaced with the new supco hard start cap so I can try it.

I did a quick goole search for Brisk Air Wiring Diagram and I was able to find an installation manual. In it there is a wiring diagram.

It looks like the black cylinder with the single red and single white wire is the start up capacitor. The silver cylinder is the run capacitor.

This is admittedly from a complete electrical novice so please accept the below comment in that context. Plus it sounds like you are an electrical guru. Please accept my apology if the below is already known.

Capacitors store a great deal of energy. To keep from serious injury, you probably need to dissipate the energy of the existing capacitor before replacing it.

This is another reason I really like this forum. We have members who truly look out for the well being of other members. I for one will need this support for the electrical stuff when I get to that point.

The start Cap is the Black one.

Your 2000W Gen should run a Dometic Brisk Air, weather its a 7000 or a 13,500. It is marginal though, and from the looks of the unit it isn't new.

As time goes on Capacitors get Lazy and should be replaced (But be careful doing it)

Depending on how far of a run the power has to take to get from the Gen to the AC, and what ever you do DON'T leave a cord wrapped up in a coil you may have to "Sneak up on it"

Meaning run the fan on High for a bit and then hit the AC.

Once its running you should have no problem.

Happy Trails

Len

The other little black cylinder in series with the start capacitor is the PTCR. PTCR + start capacitor = hard start kit.

Warn , do I need to remove the PTCR when adding this larger Supco cap ?

Yes but... why are you replacing the start components?

The purpose of the start components is to allow the compressor to start against head pressure. When the A/C cycles off there is residual head pressure for several minutes until the high and low sides, eventually, reach equilibrium. With a properly sized start circuit the compressor will start against head pressure. Without a start kit the compressor will hum, your lights will dim and after a few seconds the compressor's thermal overload will trip open.

The Supco is a one-size-fits-all generic and what you have is a capacitor and switch matched to your compressor. If you think the OEM start cap and/or switch is bad just replace with like pieces.

If your unit didn't have a start circuit already installed I suppose I'd use a Supco. I use Supco start kits and 3-n-1 kits all the time but I will always use OEM spec parts if I can get them.

FWIW, the other capacitor is a dual cap with compressor run cap and blower run cap rolled into one unit. In my experience you're more likely to experience problems there than with the start cap.
