Needing to figure out a 6x12 floorplan for myself, my wife and 2 small girls. Thinking of queen bunks in the rear running the length of the trailer.. Think it will work? Will i still have some room in the front for cabinets?

yes you will have about 2 ft deep between door and front of trailer if not V nose if it is a V nose then you have a bout 3ft from front of door and tip of V nose Have you thought about going cross ways with the bunks it will give you more room in front of trailer

Well a Queen is 80" - a tad under 7', so you should have about 5' in front of it.
It kind of comes down to how tall you are and what kind of bed you can use/need. If you're pushing 6' or need a spring mattress or airbed (something premanufactured to existing size standards), you're pretty much limited to front to back. If you can sleep in 68" or so (varies by manufacturer) and don't mind whipping something out of foam mats/pads, or cutting down a memory foam bed, you can turn it. so if everyone can sleep in 5'8" or so, you'd pick up almost two feet of trailer front to back.

I cut a memory foam mattress to run side to side in my 6X12. I'm 5'8", so I just fit, slightly diagonal or curled.
