Carry-On Brand?

Postby mlowry7 » Mon Jul 21, 2014 3:09 pm

I found the brand of the trailer I'm looking at purchasing used. Any one have one? What is the build quality? Thanks!

Are you the one who posted a CL ad earlier for a $2500 6x12 SA?

Definitely check out the quality to see what makes it special because that sounds awfully high.

The going rate in GA for a 6x12 SA is $1995 new from at least three manufacturers.

Oddly, they cost less than some smaller trailers - like it's a "base size" they have, but you can get them fully customized.

Yes, that was me. I live in Texas, so Georgia is a little bit of a haul for me. I've talked to the guy, and I can get it for $1900. Just trying to do some homework before we meet.

I didn't mean to make it sound like you should drive here - just that it sounded comparatively expensive.

The place I'm using has two TC plants - one's is $2375 and the other's is 2765. so yeah - definitely a bit more out your way.

Just for reference - http://www.trailershowroom.com/texas_locations.htm

Maybe you can use it for negotiation fodder if nothing else.

No problem! I appreciate the info. I was actually ready to order from trailer showroom today, and when I logged in, found out they raised their prices by $500 across the board from last week! Just my luck!

Texas?

When I was making purchase decisions, I ended up with a custom built Cargo Craft from Georgia. They also have a plant in Corsicana, TX. I found the best information while shopping at one of their dealers in Seagoville, TX. (near Dallas?)

It was R & J trailers, http://randjtrailers.com/ they also had an ebay store, maybe connected to Tugger trailers in Greenville, TX?

Pricing was good at the time, and they seemed to have a pretty good inventory. I found that used ones listed nearly as much and sometimes more than new. Also, many decent brands out there, but I can only answer for mine.

Good luck
